In2011,Siim Kallas,EuropeanCommissionresponsibleforTransport,said“IcannotyetplanorbookmyjourneythroughEurope- switchingfromairtorailorsea,tourbanorroadtransport- inonesinglegoandonline”.

Withtheintroductionof:• account-basedtravellingand• thecooperationwithintheEuropeanTravellersClub,

(currently)6Europeane-ticketingSchemes,

wanttoachieveinteroperabilityacrossEuropeandsolvethisproblem.
