accept application of 4 gallons of PREMISE 2Insecticide per 10 linear feet, twice the PREMISE 2Insecticide concentration may be applied in 2 gallonsof solution per 10 linear feet. For example, if 0.05% isthe correct use rate to be applied in 4 gallons of water, then 2 gallons of 0.1% dilution may be used per 10 lin-ear feet to deliver an equivalent amount of PREMISE 2Insecticide per unit of soil.CONTROL – GENERALTreatment standards for subterranean termite controlmay vary due to regulations, treatment procedures, soil types, construction practices and other factors. Thepurpose of chemical soil treatment for termite controlis to establish a continuous chemical treated zone(horizontal and/or vertical as needed) between thewood and other cellulose material in the structure andthe termite colonies in the soil. Follow all federal, state, and local regulations and treatment standards for pro-tection of a structure from termites. In some instanceswhere an aerial or above ground colony is established, supplemental treatments to control the termites, land-scape modifications, and/or structural repairs may beneeded to deprive termites of a moisture source. Use a0.05% to 0.1% dilution based on local recommenda-tions. Generally a 0.05% dilution is used for typicalcontrol situations. Where severe or persistent infesta-tions occur, a 0.1% dilution may be used.

PRE-CONSTRUCTION TREATMENTDo not apply at a lower dosage and/or concentrationthan specified on this label for application prior toinstallation of the finished grade.Prior to each application, applicators must notify thegeneral contractor, construction superintendent, orsimilar responsible party, of the intended termiticideapplication and intended sites of application andinstruct the responsible person to notify constructionworkers and other individuals to leave the area to betreated during application and until the termiticide isabsorbed into the soil.CONCRETE SLAB-ON-GROUND OR BASEMENTS:Apply an overall treatment to the entire surface of soilor other substrate to be covered by the slab includingareas to be under carports, porches, basement floorand entrance platforms. Apply at the rate of 1 gallon ofsolution to accurately and uniformly cover 10 squarefeet. If fill under slab is gravel or other coarse aggre-gate, apply at the rate of 1.5 gallons or sufficient vol-ume of solution, to accurately and uniformly cover 10square feet. In addition, apply 4 gallons of solution (seeAPPLICATION VOLUME) per 10 linear feet to provide auniform treated zone in soil at critical areas such asalong the inside of foundation walls, and aroundplumbing, bath traps, utility services, and other fea-tures that will penetrate the slab.

After completion of grading, make an application bytrenching or trenching and rodding around the slab orfoundation perimeter. Rodding may be done from thebottom of a shallow trench. When rodding, rod holesmust be spaced in a manner that will allow for a con-tinuous chemical treated zone, not to exceed 12 inch-es, to be deposited along the treated area. Rod holesshould not extend below the footing. Apply 4 gallons ofsolution (see APPLICATION VOLUME) per 10 linear feet, per foot of depth to provide a uniform treated zone. When trenching, the trench along the outside founda-tion should be about 6 inches in width and 6 inches indepth. Use a low pressure spray (not to exceed 25 psiat the treatment tool when the valve is open) to treatsoil which will be placed in the trench after rodding.Mix the spray solution with soil as it is being placed inthe trench. When treating voids in hollow masonryunits, use 2 gallons of solution per 10 linear feet ofwall. Apply solution so it will reach the footing byinjecting into the lower areas of the wall, just above thefloor or footing. When treating foundations deeper than 4 feet, applythe termiticide as the backfill is being replaced, or ifthe construction contractor fails to notify the applicatorto permit this, treat the foundation to a minimum depthof 4 feet after the backfill has been installed. The appli-cator must trench and rod into the trench or trench

along the foundation walls and around pillars and otherfoundation elements, at the rate prescribed from gradeto a minimum depth of 4 feet. When the top of the foot-ing is exposed, the applicator must treat the soil adja-cent to the footing to a depth not to exceed the bottomof the footing. However, in no case should a structurebe treated below the footing.Rodding in trench followed by flooding of trench andtreatment of backfill may provide a better opportunityto achieve a continuous chemical treated zone thanusing soil rodding alone to establish a vertical termiti-cide treated zone.CRAWL SPACES: Application must be made by trench-ing or trenching and rodding downward along theinside and outside of foundation walls, around piers, interior supports in contact with the soil, plumbing, andutility services. Apply 4 gallons of solution (see APPLI-CATION VOLUME) per 10 linear feet, per foot of depthto provide a uniform treated zone. HOLLOW BLOCK FOUNDATIONS OR VOIDS: Hollowblock foundations or voids in masonry resting on thefooting may be treated to provide a continuous chemi-cal treated zone in the voids at the footing. Apply 2 gal-lons of solution per 10 linear feet to the lower part ofthe void so that it reaches the top of the footing or soil.Treatment of voids in block or rubble foundation wallsmust be closely examined. Applicators must inspectareas of possible runoff as a precaution against appli-cation leakage in the treated areas. Some areas maynot be treatable or may require mechanical alterationprior to treatment. All leaks resulting in the deposition of termiticide inlocations other than those prescribed on this labelmust be cleaned up prior to leaving the application site(refer to Precautionary Statements). Do not allow peo-ple or pets to contact or to reoccupy the contaminatedareas of the structure until the clean up is completed.POST-CONSTRUCTION TREATMENTCONCRETE SLAB-ON-GROUND: To apply a treatmentunder the slab, including attached porches, carports, entrance platforms, garages and similar slab struc-tures, it may be necessary to drill through the slab orexterior foundation. 2. Treat infested and/or damaged wood in place usingan injection technique such as described in the“Control of Wood Infesting Pests” section of thislabel.

Structures With Adjacent Wells/Cisterns and/orOther Water Bodies: Applicators must inspect allstructures with nearby water sources such as wells, cisterns, surface ponds, streams, and other bodies ofwater and evaluate, at a minimum, the treatment rec-ommendations listed below prior to making an appli-cation.1. Prior to treatment, if feasible, expose the water

pipe(s) coming from the well to the structure, if thepipe(s) enter the structure within 3 feet of grade.

2. Prior to treatment, applicators are advised to takeprecautions to limit the risk of applying the termiti-cide into subsurface drains that could empty intoany bodies of water. These precautions includeevaluating whether application of the termiticide to

Exterior Perimeter/Interior Spot TreatmentUSE INFORMATIONExterior Perimeter/Interior Spot Treatment is an option-al method of termite treatment only for use in post-construction applications, after the final grade isestablished. Structural protection when using theExterior Perimeter/Interior Spot Treatment is accom-plished by: 1) establishing a continuous treated zonearound the entire exterior foundation wall of the build-ing; and 2) spot-treating infested areas on the buildinginterior. Soil adjacent to the exterior foundation wallmust be treated in the same manner as conventional(full) application. It is required that a complete andcontinuous treated zone be achieved around the entireexterior perimeter, including under any attached slabssuch as garages, porches, patios, driveways and pave-ment adjoining the foundation. Interior spot treatmentsmust then be made to any indoor areas where termite

activity is present. Optional interior spot treatmentsmay also be made to high risk areas including, but notlimited to, plumbing and utility penetrations (includingbath traps), along settlement cracks and expansionjoints, and dirt-filled porches.Exterior Perimeter/Interior Spot Treatment can be usedeither as a preventative treatment (before structuralinfestation occurs) or as a curative treatment (afterstructural infestation occurs) in existing structures.Preventative treatment does not include pre-construc-tion applications made to protect new construction. Itis required that a thorough structural inspection becompleted, before treatment, to locate all areas ofactive infestation. Spot treatment of all known sites oftermite activity is required with this optional labeling. Ifno termite activity is observed inside the structure, interior spot treatments are not required. Do not applyat a lower dosage and/or concentration than specifiedon this label.EXTERIOR PERIMETER TREATMENTIt is required that all structures, regardless of the typeof construction, be protected by establishing a verticaltreated zone along the outer perimeter of the founda-tion wall. When trenching, excavate a trench along theoutside foundation that is about 6 inches wide and 6inches deep. Apply 4 gallons of solution (see APPLICA-TION VOLUME) per 10 linear feet, per foot of depth toprovide a uniform vertical treated zone. • For shallow foundations, one foot or less of depth,

dig a narrow trench that does not exceed 6 incheswide and 6 inches deep along the outside of thefoundation walls, being careful not to dig below thebottom of the footings. For foundations with exposedfootings, dig a trench alongside the footing takingcare not to undermine the footing.

• For basements and other foundations deeper thanone foot, the application must be made by trenchingand rodding from the bottom of a shallow trench. When rodding, rod holes must be spaced in a man-ner that will allow for a continuous treated zone, notto exceed 12 inches, to be deposited along the treat-ed area. Rod holes must not extend below the foot-ing. Rodding depth should be to the top of the footer,or to a maximum depth of 4 feet, or according tostate or local regulations.

using a pointed injection tool. Multiple injection pointsto varying depths may be necessary. Removal of car-ton material from trees is desirable but may not benecessary when foam application is used. In someinstances, a perimeter application of a 0.05% to 0.1%solution applied to soil around the root flare of the treemay be necessary to prevent reinfestation by termitesin the soil. For small trees (< 6 inches in diameter),apply 1 gallon of solution. For larger trees, apply 4 gal-lons per 10 linear feet (measured as the circumferenceat the root flare). For protection of firewood or other wood productsstored in contact with soil from carpenter ants and ter-mites, treat soil prior to stacking with a 0.05 to 0.1%solution at 1 gallon per 10 square feet to prevent infes-tation. Curative application to the soil around firewoodor other wood products stored in contact with soil maybe made as described for non-structural wood-to-soilcontacts (above).Drywood termites and wood-infesting beetles orborers (such as, but not limited to, powder post bee-tles, anobiid or deathwatch beetles, false powder postbeetles, old house borers, wharf borers, or ambrosia orbark beetles). Galleries and structure voids can betreated with sprays, mists, or foams of a 0.05 to 0.1%PREMISE 2 Insecticide solution. Locate galleries byusing visual signs (frass or pellets, blistered wood,

Penetrate the gallery system by drilling holes toreceive the injector tip or treatment tool. Distribute drillholes to adequately cover the gallery system. [NOTE:Avoid drilling where electrical wiring, plumbing lines, etc. are located.] Apply PREMISE 2 Insecticide solu-tions as a low pressure (about 20 psi) spray or by mist-ing or, where appropriate, by foaming. It is not neces-sary to treat to the point where runoff is detected fromadjacent holes. [NOTE: Do not apply where electricalshock hazards exist.] Drill holes should be sealed aftertreatment. Also, wood surfaces can be sprayed ormisted with a 0.05 to 0.1% solution or, where appro-priate, use a sufficient volume of foam. For inaccessi-ble surfaces, drill and treat the interior of structuralvoids. Surfaces treated may include exposed woodensurfaces in crawlspaces, basements, or attics, woodenexterior surfaces such as decks, fencing, or siding, structural voids, channels in damaged wood, in spacesbetween wooden members of a structure, and junc-tions between wood and foundations. Apply by brush-ing or as a coarse, low pressure (about 20 psi) spray tothe wood surface; apply sufficient volume to cover thesurface to the point of wetness, but avoid applying tothe point of runoff. areas, cover surfaces below the treated area with plas-tic sheeting or similar material. Avoid contact withtreated surfaces until spray deposits have dried.Retreat as needed to maintain protection.Localized treatment for carpenter bees: Apply a0.05 to 0.1% solution as a spray or mist, or sufficientvolume of foam, directly into gallery entrance holes.Following treatment, entrance holes may be pluggedwith small pieces of steel wool or similar material.RETREATMENTRetreatment for subterranean termites can only beperformed if there is clear evidence of reinfestation ordisruption of the treated zone due to construction, excavation, or landscaping and/or evidence of thebreakdown of the termiticide treated zone in the soil. These vulnerable or reinfested areas may be retreatedin accordance with application techniques described inthis product’s labeling. The timing and type of theseretreatments will vary, depending on factors such astermite pressure, soil types, soil conditions and otherfactors which may reduce the effectiveness of thetreated zone. Retreatment may be made as either aspot or complete treatment. When a structure is not known to be reinfested and thetreated zone is not disturbed, but where the structurewas last treated five or more years ago, retreatmentmay be performed if, in the judgement of the applica-

tor, it is necessary to ensure adequate protection of thestructure. In determining the timing of any retreatment, the applicator should consider efficacy and/or degra-dation data and/or site-specific conditions and previ-ous experience that indicate a vulnerability of thestructure to termite attack.Annual retreatment of the structure is prohibitedunless there is clear evidence that reinfestation ortreated zone disruption has occurred. When another registered termite controlproduct/system is used as the primary treatment forprevention or control of subterranean termites and isapplied to all label-specified areas, PREMISE 2Insecticide may be applied as a spot application in asecondary treatment to critical areas of the structureincluding plumbing and utility entry sites, bath traps, expansion joints, foundation cracks, the outside foun-dation wall, and areas of known or suspected activity ateither a pre-construction or post-construction timing. These secondary treatments must be applied inamounts and concentration in accordance with labeldirections relevant to the treatment area(s) to receivethe secondary treatment. For control of ants in houses and other structures, apply a 0.05 to 0.1% solution as a general surface, spot, crack and crevice or wall void application. Spray into cracks and crevices.Spray, mist or foam into voids where these ants or theirnests are present. Apply the volume of spray mist orfoam sufficient to cover the area, but do not allowexcessive dripping or run-off to occur from vertical oroverhead surfaces.Treat soil, turf, or non-flowering ground cover adjacentto the structure where ants are trailing or may find foodor harborage. To control ants tunneling in soil apply a0.05 to 0.1% solution as a drench or soil injection atintervals to establish a continuous treated zone. Treatalong the edge of walls, driveways or other hard sur-faces where ants are tunneling beneath the surface.Aerial Nests: If ant nests are located in tree hollows ornon-structural wooden construction (e.g.; posts, fences, decks) treat the interior cavity and/or the nestsite by injecting a 0.05 to 0.1% solution as a spraymist, or sufficient volume of foam.Apply in sufficient water to cover the foliage and soilarea being treated. Maximum application is once permonth to maintain control. Do not allow residents or pets into the immediate areaduring the application or contact with treated areas
