FLAMES 2016-17 PLAYER BIOSmatchup notesNOTES AND ANECDOTES - LIBERTY VS. RADFORD

• Liberty has faced Radford more often than any opponent in program history, as Tuesday's game will mark the 70th meeting of a series which began in 1980.

• Radford was voted No. 1 and Liberty No. 2 in the Big South preseason poll, and the Highlanders and Lady Flames are the conference's two hott est teams. Radford is 8-1 in its last nine games, with the lone loss coming by a 61-56 count at Liberty on Jan. 28. Meanwhile, the Lady Flames are riding a season-long seven-game winning streak.

• Points could be at a premium on Tuesday, as Liberty ranks No. 15 nationally for scoring defense (55.3 ppg) and Radford ranks No. 16 in the same category (55.3 ppg).

• Five of the six Liberty-Radford clashes over the last three seasons have been decided by 10 points or fewer.

• Radford is 9-1 at the Dedmon Center this season and had won 21 straight home games prior to a 67-56 loss to UNC Asheville on Jan. 9. The Lady Flames had won nine straight visits to Radford before suff ering a 76-68 loss last season (Jan. 24, 2017).

• The Lady Flames are 21-5 in their last 26 meetings with Com-monwealth opponents, including 3-1 this season. Liberty has defeated in-state foes Longwood, Old Dominion and Radford in 2017-18, while losing at James Madison. The Lady Flames are 11-1 in Virginia this season but just 5-7 outside the state.

LIBERTY IN THE 2017-18 BIG SOUTH STATS

GO GREENOn the heels of an outstanding freshman season, Keyen Green was voted a preseason fi rst team All-Big South selec-tion. Green paced the Lady Flames in points (12.3 ppg) and rebounds (8.1 rpg) in 2016-17, earning Big South Freshman of the Year and VaSID State Rookie of the Year honors.

This season, Green tops Big South players with 16.0 ppg in conference play, including an 18.3 ppg scoring average in her last seven games. She was named Big South Player of the Week for the fi rst time in her career on Feb. 5.

STELLAR SOPHOMORES

Keyen Green, Iva Ilic and Ola Makurat all made the Big South All-Freshman team a year ago, making Liberty the only NCAA Division I women's basketball team in the nation with a trio of all-freshman honorees in 2016-17.

Adding in the production of classmates Kierra Johnson-Gra-ham and Lela Sellers, the Lady Flames' fi ve sophomore re-turnees accounted for 58.9 percent of the team's scoring last season and are scoring 52.4 percent of the points in 2017-18.

MEMORABLE SUMMER

Junior Molly Reagan (left) and senior Sheana Vega (right) both graduated with bachelor's degrees in criminal justice in May. The following month, they traveled to Kenya together on an Athletes in Action basketball tour.

MEMORABLE SUMMER, PART 2

Sophomore Iva Ilic represented Croatia in the FIBA U20 Women's European Championship Division B during July in Eilat, Israel, helping her team capture the bronze medal.
