Bradford Libraries are, once again, offering their summer reading challenge to all Bradford school children. This year the theme is ‘Mythical Maze!’. If your child would like to take part in the challenge, just pop down to your local library to sign up. Even children who have outstanding library tickets can now take part, as libraries have agreed to hold a ticket amnesty. This means that children who have book fines or tickets can still be involved in the challenge.
FREE DEBT ADVICE
Starting on Monday 19th May, we will be hosting a free debt and benefit advice service every week. This will be run by a West Bowling Advice Worker, alongside Mrs Wright, in the community room from 9.00am. You can get advice about all kinds of money issues including benefits, housing, employment, debt, free school meals and education issues. All parents and carers are welcome to attend.
YEAR 4 RESIDENTIAL TO NELL BANK
After the half-term holidays, children from year 4 will be going on an exciting residential to Nell Bank activity centre in Ilkley. The trip will form part of their ‘Into the Wild’ topic, and means that children get the chance to explore the great outdoors.

MINIBUS
This week we had an extra special delivery...our very own Bowling Park minibus! This means that we will now be able to go on even more days out! It also means that travelling between our two sites will be much easier. Look out for our minibus on the roads of Bradford over the next few weeks!
SMILE Week
The theme for this year’s SMILE week will be ‘Independent learners, confident individuals, responsible citizens’. We are very excited about all the great activities we have planned, and hope you are too! The fun will begin on Monday 7th July. We will also be hosting sports day this week, so keep your eye out for more information over the next few weeks.
Have a lovely weekend, Stuart Herrington, Principal.

YR6 SATS
CONGRATULATIONS!
I would like to wish a huge congratulations and well done to all the year 6 children who, this week, completed their SATs. It was a tough week for everyone, but the children handled it with maturity and confidence. I know they have all done their very best and will get the level they deserve.
KELLOGG’S GRANT
Last week we received an extra special grant from Kellogg’s. The company have given us some money to help towards funding our breakfast club. This money will go towards providing a healthy breakfast for all the children that attend, as well as providing equipment and games for them to play with. Breakfast club is open to all children at Bowling Park, and is open every morning from 8.00am. The cost of the club is 50p per day.
