Join us as we celebrate the orchestra Edo has built.
The MSO’s 2009.10 season marked the beginning of the Era of Edo.
Seven seasons and 174 performances later, the Era of Edo has come
full circle. Maestro Edo de Waart has guided our orchestra along the
road to excellence. And we have arrived.
Edo’s final season begins with an astounding cast of internationally-acclaimed
opera artists in a semi-staged production of Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro.
From there, the season is peppered with an array of exceptional artists, some
familiar, some new. Expect nothing less than thrilling performances by pianists
Emanuel Ax, Ronald Brautigam, the Naughton sisters, Behzod Abduraimov, and
Jeremy Denk. Enchanting vocalists are sure to leave you speechless, yet cheering.
Cellist Zuill Bailey and violinist Itzhak Perlman provide breathtaking performances.
And MSO principal players showcase their brilliance as soloists.
There’s no doubt: premiere orchestra builder Edo de Waart has left an indelible
mark on the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra. It’s Edo’s final season. Be there for
every last note.

“Like the sea at dawn, Become Ocean presents a gorgeous

apocalypse in musical history. I went away reeling.”

Enigma Variations are miniature portraits of the
composer’s friends, loved ones, and even himself.
The moving “Nimrod” variation is one of the greatest
moments in the repertoire.
