Offerings include the following: Advanced Placement Biology Calculus AB Chemistry English Language & Composition English Literature & Composition Microeconomics Physics C: Electricity and Magnetism Physics C: Mechanics U.S. History Dual Enrollment Computer Programming Honors Algebra II Introduction to Computer Science Psychology Statistics Other program requirements with respect to Academic Discovery include: A minimum of three years of the same world language A score of 3 or better on a least two Advanced Placement exams prior to their senior year A full course load each year; and the student may not expunge a grade, repeat a course, drop/withdraw from a course after the drop/add period, or have a final grade below a C Participation in planned cohort college visits Leadership Development A student of the Honors Academy is required to participate in leadership awareness, lectures and training, cultural growth experiences and community networking. In-Depth Community Service Over the course of four years students in the Honors Academy are required to perform 100 hours of community service outside of school with the same organization or at the same site. Required service hours by grade level are as follows: Freshman 15 hours Sophomore 20 hours Junior 30 hours Senior 35 hours Creative Processing The Honors Academy requires each student to complete a Senior Research Project that is reflective of an academic interest, personal concern or career aspiration. The student is required to design the project, conduct research and maintain a portfolio that documents the project. In addition, the student will present their project in a public forum. Faculty will guide and mentor the student. Academic Recognition Honors Academy students who meet both the Continuing Enrollment Requirements and the Program Requirements will receive distinctive recognition at graduation and a special notation on their Concordia Lutheran High School transcript. The Honors Academy at Concordia Lutheran High

School is a rigorous educational program that is

and fulfillment of academic and leadership potential.

Students in the Honors Academy reflect the highest

Christian ideals and develop into pillars of strength

that glorify our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Eligibility Requirements9th Grade students at Concordia Lutheran High School whose 7th Grade ISTEP scores reflect Pass Plus in Math, English and Social Studies are eligible for the academy. Additionally, 9th Grade students can qualify for eligibility based on scores from the Aspire ACT in October.

Admission RequirementsStudents desiring admission into the Honors Academy at Concordia Lutheran High School must:

1. Sign and return the Honors Academy Agreement for Admission 2. Prepare and submit a Creative Response 3. Participate in an interview with the Honors Academy Acceptance Committee

Acceptance into the ProgramAcceptance into the Honors Academy is at the sole discretion of Concordia Lutheran High School. Students will be informed of the status of their acceptance following their on-site interview.

Continuing Enrollment RequirementsStudents who are enrolled in the Honors Academy must meet certain requirements to continue their enrollment in the program:

Cumulative GPA: 9th Grade 3.60, 10th-12th Grade 3.75Academic honestyGood character and leadership
