Four-Stor- y Building on Ninth Street. An Important sale of Ninth street business property was concluded today In the purchase by Henry T. Offter- dinger of the four-stor- y building at COS Ninth street, near his present estab- lishment. While the price is withheld by Mr. Offterdinger, a trust or $70,000 stands upon the property. The prop- erty contains about 3,800 square feet of ground and belpnged to the Garnett estate. The sale was made by H. Ro-zi- er Dulaney. Mr. OlTterdinger's Intention in buying the property Is to raze the old building and erect upon the site a new four-stor- y building or nib tobacco manutactor.v. His business at 504 Ninth street has grown to proportions now demanding largely Increased factory space. The new building will add about KO.OOO to the Investment. Selte Uptown Lot. William A. Hill, as trustee, has sold to Fred W. and John H. Miller for $S,500, the building used as a theater on U street, between Twelfth and Thti-tecn- th streets northwest. The lot has a frontag of twenty feet. Mr. Hill also reports the bale by Moore & Hill for Harry Wardman of the new nine-roo- m house at 2S12 Twenty-sev- enth place northwest for $7,000. The house is one of a row of four re- cently completed by Mr. 'Wardman. Richmond Hotel Sold. O. C. Brothers has purchased from the American Security and Trust Com- pany, trustee for the Christie estate, the large Christie tract in Southeast 'Washington, beyond the Eastern Branch. The tract contains 2,178,000 square feet of ground and was pur- chased by Mr. Brothers for the purpose of subdivision. The tract was acquired by an Englishman, Arthur Christie, about seventy-flv- e years ago. Twenty-liv- e years later he returned to England and the property has been in the hands of trustees until sold yesterday to Mr. Brothers. A fine old mansion built by Mr. Christie is in the center of the tract The Richmond hotel and the balance of the property of the Anthony Pollock estate at the northeast corner of H and Seventeenth streets northwest, is said to have been sold to a purchaser whose name 1 swithheld until the deal Is com- pleted. The property was In charge of the American Security and Trust Com pany and Horace H. Westcott acted for the purchasers. The property includes the small stores on Seventeenth street and the building occupied by the Tea Cup Inn, on H street, as well as the hotel property. The price named in the contract of sale is reported as $275,(00. Richmond Hotel Sold.O. C. Brothers has purchased from

the American Security and Trust Com-pany, trustee for the Christie estate,the large Christie tract in Southeast'Washington, beyond the EasternBranch. The tract contains 2,178,000square feet of ground and was pur-chased by Mr. Brothers for the purposeof subdivision. The tract was acquiredby an Englishman, Arthur Christie,about seventy-flv- e years ago. Twenty-liv- e

years later he returned to Englandand the property has been in the handsof trustees until sold yesterday to Mr.Brothers. A fine old mansion built byMr. Christie is in the center of thetract

Hundreds of persons called tjoday atthe home of the late Gustavo Lansburgh,101S Vermont avenue, to express theirdeep sorrow at the death of the veteranbusiness man whose funeral took placefrom the residence at 2 o'clock.

Among the many callers were manyof the employes of the store, but thefar greater number included personswho had been befriended by Mr. Lans-burtr- h

during his fifty years businesscareer, as a member of the firm ofLansburgh & Bro., and manv instancesof charitable deeds, done without be- -In. made public, were related by thebeneficiaries.

The servlcps at the home were con-ducted by Rabbis Abram Simon andLoafs Stern, of the Eighth Street Tem-ple, and interment was in the HebrewCemetery.

Elgin of the oldest employes of thestore, several of whom have been con-nected with the firm for forty years,acted as pallbearers. They were LouisGoldsmith, William Musby, Charles Iar-vell- a,

Edward Bachrach, Frank J. Ma-jor, Frederick Hohoff, Jonas MIchaells,and Samuel Hart, secretary of the firm.

Mr. Lansburgh is survived by twobrothers. James and Julius, a sister,Mrs. Leopold Frankcl. or New York,and four sons, Solomon, Henry, Lester,and Stanley. Lester lives In Indianapolis. There are aho the followingdaughters, Mrs. Charles Goldsmith, MrsMerer Singer, of New York; Mrs. DavidCohen, of Seattle, Mrs. A. Conor, ofPittsburg, and Mrs. R. B H. Lyons.

Mr. Lansburgh died Sunday morningafter a short illrv'ss. which resultedfatally because of his advanced age.
