Licensing Sub-Committee meetings – Wednesday 13th April at 09.30am and Thursday 14th April at 10.00am and determined the following applications: Please note the information below is an informal summary of the discussions which took place at the hearing, and is WITHOUT PREJUDICE to the formal decisions of the Licensing Sub Committee which shall be published at a later date

Wednesday 13th April Vendome, Basement, 85 Piccadilly, W1 (West End / Not in stress area) – The Sub-Committee revoked the licence at the full review hearing. Members considered that the Licence Holder’s response in relation to an incident on 6 March fell woefully short of what must be expected from a responsible operator. The incidents of disorder and public nuisance which had occurred over time at the nightclub were not acceptable and previous review hearings of the premises had not had their desired effect. Police had recommended that the licence be revoked. Thursday 14th April Sannin, 71 Edgware Road, W2 (Hyde Park / Edgware Road Stress Area) – The Sub-Committee granted Core Hours, subject to conditions. The applicant had applied for late night refreshment in a designated stress area until 02:30 hours. The Green Man Public House, 383 Euston Road, NW1 (Marylebone High Street / Not in stress area) – The Sub-Committee granted the application, subject to conditions. The applicant company amended their proposed hours on the ground floor for the sale of alcohol and regulated entertainment so that they were within the Council’s Core Hours policy. 34, 34 Grosvenor Square, W1 (West End / Not in stress area) – Granted under Delegated Authority prior to the hearing. Buddha Bar, 8 Victoria Embankment, WC2 (St James’s / Not in stress area) - The Sub-Committee granted the variation to remove the conditions for the proposed striptease club but added a number of conditions to the licence which would promote the licensing objectives. These included that each dance area would have a CCTV camera, there would be at least one door supervisor for each of the two dance floors and the licence would have no effect unless Mr Nicie, the Designated Premises Supervisor was able to control the activities at the club.
