The meeting, therefore, proceeded to the agenda. Review of Previous Minutes Chairman’s Update Councillor Dave Sweeton had forwarded an email from Nicola Marshall from The Parks Department of TMBC. Basically, she was saying that; if the project were to go forward it would need the involvement of residents to physically assist with the establishment of certain play features and then their ongoing maintenance. JH proposed that the members of the Friends of Gorse Hall (TFGH) should try to get their residents involved and DERA would work with the Residents of the Tennyson Avenue estate where ex-committee members resided. It was agreed that DERA would work with TFGH and, in turn, New Charter would support DERA particularly with fund raising as the play area would benefit the Gorse Hall neighbourhood. Various examples of play equipment and costings had been sent by TMBC and the next stage would be to contact TFGH to see if they wished to proceed with the project and then arrange a meeting to discuss options. AD arrived late. She was congratulated on her recent marriage and from this meeting forward she will be known as Angela Dickson (AD). KB was unsure whether there had been any further progress with regard to the vacant lot on Lyne Edge Road. She will check with LW and report back to the committee. KB: Regarding bins permanently left on the path outside houses, this is largely a problem for TMBC to address. However, there will be a ‘bin swapat the back end of this year; NC will work with the council to educate people, beforehand. Dave Sweeton There had been no update regarding broken street lights. KB and LW met with JH to discuss plans for events and the Chester Avenue and Gorse Hall clean-up had already taken place. There had also been a coffee morning at Beatrix House. The next planned event is the Dukinfield Festival on the 4 th July. .

Apologies Kathy Inglis (KI) Secretary, (AC) Committee Member, Simon Blomeley (SB) Neighbourhood Coordinator for Gorse Hall, New Charter. Linda Whyatt (LW) Resident Involvement Officer Preamble to Meeting: JH confirmed that there were sufficient members present to form a quorum, under the rules of the constitution. The meeting, therefore, proceeded to the agenda. Review of Previous Minutes

Chairmans Update Councillor Dave Sweeton had forwarded an email from Nicola Marshall from The Parks Department of TMBC.

However, there will be a bin swap at the back end of this year; NC will work with the council to educate people, beforehand. Dave Sweeton There had been no update regarding broken street lights. KB and LW met with JH to discuss plans for events and the Chester Avenue and Gorse Hall clean-up had already

taken place. There had also been a coffee morning at Beatrix House.

The next planned event is the Dukinfield Festival on the 4th July.

    Other Business

Loxley House on Birch Lane are moving from council run to community run. AD will attend the Loxley House

meetings, as DERA representative, and report back to the committee. However, she missed the initial meetings but

reported that the matters discussed revolved setting up the organisation, constitution etc., so there was nothing

    significant to DERA.

JH had no further update regarding bins for dog mess around the Gorse Hall / Macauley Close area. He will follow up

    with Dave Sweeton.

KB had previously advised that there was to be a weekly multi agency meeting but this has not yet happened. the

Community Gathering has yet to be arranged.

KB: The notice board at the shops will be replaced in April.

    Mini Bus Finance

JH some organisations paid the 250.00 annual fee but hardly used the bus, breakeven point is 5 trips.

He suggested that this be further discussed with KI to propose a way forward.

Ideas to liven up our public meeting

LW suggested a separate table for each organisation, with 10 minutes at each, like speed dating.

AD has a projector, currently in storage in her loft, that may be useful at public meetings or if a programme could be

run in a loop at other venues.

LW offered blue boards for displaying pictures.

DB suggested that some of the class rooms have display boards that we may be able to use.

KB has provided contact emails for other agencies.

JH proposed that the public meeting scheduled for the 27th April be cancelled because of the impending General

Election, since councillors were likely to be involved in the hustings. Committee members suggested that we cancel

the July public meeting and hold one at the end of June, leaving a reasonable gap, then, before our AGM in

September. The date of Monday 29th June was agreed.

    Accounts

Balance on the accounts is 1,200.23, 120 still to pay on the bus insurance. Money still to come from N.C. 165 for

    Minibus Tax.

KB Improvement work at the shops on Yew Tree Lane, March April, gardening has been started, the balconies have

already been painted white and black and new parking lines have been done.

Positioning of the replacement notice board to be reconsidered.

KB: asked for suggestions for a large grassed area near Sandringham Drive that could be considered for

    development

    Date of next meeting

Committee: To be advised. Public Meeting: Monday 29th June. July meeting cancelled.
