Some of us ventured out onto the Lagoon Track where we saw brolga and pig footprints, stilts, black front‐ ed dotterels, different types of but‐ terflies, brolgas in the distance as well as a great view of Castle Hill from a different perspective. Most of us met up for coffee at the park af‐ terwards for a chat. Phensri and Len have kindly invited us out to their place at Toomulla Beach on Saturday 20th June for an early morning get together to photograph birds and anything else that takes our interest, followed by morning tea. Please read any emails and Facebook messages for details. It’s amazing how we all see things differently. We can photograph the same things but put our own per‐ spective on the subject. It’s always good to ask questions and learn from others as that’s what our club is all about. There was a great sunrise and sunset last Wednesday with a mackerel sky all day. The sunrise I observed from my bathroom window. I wish I’d had the foresight and energy to get over to the river with my camera! After observing the clouds all day, I head‐ ed to Jezzine for sunset and I wasn’t disappointed. Always good to keep a camera in the car or with you on walks just in case…. It will be great to get together on Monday nights again, with re‐ strictions of course. See you then! Signing off, Karen Grice (President).

From the President Well, another month has gone by and things are slowly getting back to

normal for us in Townsville. Kids are

back at school, most shops are open‐ing up, some restaurants and clubs

as well, albeit with restrictions.

It was great to finally get out and about as a club for an outing to the

Town Common! I was surprised to

hear that some of our club members had never been there before. There

are quite a few walking tracks to ex‐

plore for the more adventurous as well as several bird hides and other

areas you can just stop and observe.

Many took the opportunity to focus

on their macro, as the next theme is

actually Macro/Close up, of butter‐flies, flowers, dragonflies, seed pods

and other insects as well as a very cooperative wallaby and egret!

Some of us ventured out onto the

Lagoon Track where we saw brolga and pig footprints, stilts, black front‐

ed dotterels, different types of but‐

terflies, brolgas in the distance as well as a great view of Castle Hill

from a different perspective. Most of

us met up for coffee at the park af‐terwards for a chat.

Phensri and Len have kindly invited us out to their place at Toomulla

Beach on Saturday 20th June for an early morning get together to

photograph birds and anything else

that takes our interest, followed by morning tea. Please read any emails

and Facebook messages for details.

It’s amazing how we all see things differently. We can photograph the

same things but put our own per‐

spective on the subject. It’s always good to ask questions and learn

from others as that’s what our club is

all about.

There was a great sunrise and sunset

last Wednesday with a mackerel sky all day. The sunrise I observed from

my bathroom window. I wish I’d had

the foresight and energy to get over to the river with my camera! After

observing the clouds all day, I head‐ed to Jezzine for sunset and I wasn’t

disappointed. Always good to keep a

camera in the car or with you on walks just in case….

It will be great to get together on Monday nights again, with re‐

strictions of course. See you then!

Signing off,

Karen Grice (President).
