Subjunctive Use
• The subjunctive is used in the subordinate clause if the antecedent in the main clause does not exist, is uncertain or indefinite in the speaker’s mind:– Examples:– No hay un carro que yo pueda comprar. Soy muy
pobre. – non existent– ¿Hay una tienda que venda ipods viejos? – uncertain– Necesito una mujer que cocine bien. – indefinite

¿Hay? = Subjunctive
• ¿Hay un restaurante que cocine comida francesa?

Un/una/unos/unas (indefinite articles) = Subjunctive
• Necesito una mujer que hable ruso. (indefenite article = subjunctive)
• Or
• Necesito a la mujer que habla ruso. (definite article = indicative)
