Program Notes

The Choir Invisible (2013), was commissioned by Albany Pro Musica in honor of and in gratitude for the life of David Griggs-Janower (1952-2013), founder, and for 33 years, beloved Artistic Director and Conductor. It was premiered in a memorial concert on January 25, 2014, by Albany Pro Musica, under the direction of Joseph Farrell.

The work sets a selection of a poem by English author George Eliot (1819-1880), a text that is fitting for celebrating one whose life was devoted to inspiring others to make music.
