The Doo Wop ProjectSaturday, October 1 at 8pm

Featuring current and former stars of Broadway’s smash hits Jersey Boys and Motown: The Musical, the Doo Wop Project brings unparalleled authenticity of sound and vocal excellence to recreate—and in some cases entirely reimagine—some of the greatest music in American pop and rock history. Throughout the performance, the Doo Wop Project takes audiences on a journey from tunes of groups like the Crests, Belmonts, and Flamingos through influences of the sounds of Smokey Robinson, The Temptations, and The Four Seasons, all the way to Michael Jackson, Jason Mraz, and Amy Winehouse.

Scott O’Neil and the Rosetta Music SocietyBach’s A Musical OfferingSunday, October 16 at 7pm

In 1747, J. S. Bach visited his son Carl Philip Emmanuel, Court Composer to the Prussian ruler, Frederick the Great. While there, Frederick summoned him to court and challenged him to improvise a fugue on a theme contrived by Frederick himself. Bach’s response became the basis of what we now know as A Musical Offering. In this performance, O’Neil and the Rosetta Music Society explore this fugue, as well as other great fugues and canons by Bach.

Igor Butman and the Moscow Jazz OrchestraWednesday, October 19 at 7:30pm

Internationally renowned saxophonist Igor Butman and his Moscow Jazz Orchestra are one of the best hardcore jazz units around. In addition to being a saxophone virtuoso, Butman is a bandleader, club owner, television host, and Russia’s number one jazz personality. He and his big band have played everywhere from Jazz at Lincoln Center to Carnegie Hall to major jazz festivals worldwide. The New York Times calls their performance “a show of great competence and fluency.” Butman pushes the boundaries of jazz mainstream with creative crossover projects, and the big band has shared the stage with diverse artists from Wynton Marsalis to Mike Stern.

The Wonder Bread YearsSaturday, October 29 at 1:30 and 8pm

The Wonder Bread Years, starring former Seinfeld writer Pat Hazell, is a hilarious one-man show-and-tell reminding us that there is still a kid inside each of us, and a sense of wonder that is waiting to be unlocked. A salute to pure escapism and the Baby Boomer Generation, The Wonder Bread Years is akin to opening a time capsule packed with the most common joys of childhood: Hula Hoop contests, lawn darts, Kool-Aid, Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots, Big Wheels, Eskimo Pies, Clackers, Toughskin Jeans, and riding in the way back of the Country Squire wagon—reminding us all that we share more in common than we have differences.

Celebrate the incredible music recorded at Muscle Shoals and share in the stories behind the music. A group of

talented musicians take you on a journey from Muscle Shoals’ early days with W.C. Handy

through music made famous by such greats as Wilson Pickett, Etta James, Aretha Franklin, the

Staples Sisters, Percy Sledge, Paul Simon, Mac Davis, and many more. Developed by Randal Myler, who spent weeks with an all-access pass to that magical,

musical Alabama region, Muscle Shoals: I’ll Take You There will bring stories and songs to life.

Argentina’s controversial First Lady is the subject of this dynamic musical masterpiece. As an illegitimate fifteen year old, Eva escaped her dirt-poor existence for the bright lights of Buenos Aires. Driven by ambition and blessed with charisma, she was a starlet at twenty-two, the president’s mistress at twenty-four, First Lady at twenty-seven, and dead at thirty-three. Eva Perón—“saint to the working-class, reviled by the aristocracy, and mistrusted by the military”—was destined to leave a fascinating political legacy unique in the 20th century. Told through a compelling score that fuses haunting chorales with exuberant Latin, pop, and jazz influences, EVITA creates an arresting theatrical portrait as complex as the woman herself.
