Guys and Dolls In Concert October 22-26Music and Lyrics by Frank Loesser, Book by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows

Following the rave reviews for South Pacific in Concert, LTAC brings back the unique ‘in concert’ staging (full orchestra on stage with large cast singing and performing select dialogue) for another look at a classic American musical. The rousing energy of mid-20th century New York City mixes with legendary characters and a dazzling score. The classic tunes come one right after the other, including favorites such as “A Bushel and a Peck,” “Luck Be A Lady,” “Take Back Your Mink,” “Sit Down You’re Rockin’ the Boat,” and “If I Were A Bell.” The romantic and funny story is populated with gangsters and gamblers, missionary dolls and showgirls, and one of the greatest musical scores in the history of American theatre.

All Lone Tree Arts Center Subscriptions include these three theatrical shows.

Swing Xing! Three Generations of Swing Guitar Sunday, January 4 at 7:30pm

Bucky Pizzarelli, Frank Vignola, and Vinny Raniolo are among the most extraordinary guitarists performing today. Eighty-nine year old jazz guitarist Bucky Pizzarelli has been thrilling audiences with his signature swinging style for close to seven decades. Throughout that time, Bucky has played with a veritable Who’s Who of bandleaders and performers including musical giants like Benny Goodman, Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, and Les Paul among others.

Frank Vignola’s stunning virtuosity has made him the guitarist of choice for many of the world’s top musicians, including Ringo Starr, Madonna, Wynton Marsalis, the Boston Pops, the New York Pops, and guitar legend Les Paul, who named Vignola to his “Five Most Admired Guitarists List” for the Wall Street Journal.

Vinny Raniolo, at the age of 28, has already proved himself to be among the elite. Together with Vignola, they have performed at prestigious concert halls and festivals in the world. Back by popular demand, this Beatles tribute is like none you’ve seen. They had our audience singing along, dancing in the aisles, and feeling that Beatlemania once more! No wigs. No accents. Just great music sung in tight harmony the way it was meant to be. The concept is simple – every Beatles song has a memory associated with it. Was it the song playing during your first kiss? The song you listened to over and over after your best friend moved away? The Beatles catalog is the soundtrack of a generation and of our lives. Each audience member has the chance to request a song and share the memory associated with it. The singers organize those suggestions into an original performance for that specific audience. The band and singers don’t tamper with the originals; instead, they offer a unique tribute that pays homage to the original without irony.
