Terms of Agreement

Contract termination If either party wishes to terminate the contract one month notice in writing will normally be required. Where adverse behaviour is a problem the contract may be terminated immediately. Date agreement Holiday and Inset days must be agreed at contract commencement and any alterations to this must be in writing with not less than one month’s notice. Adverse behaviour The college will make every effort to provide a stimulating programme, however, where a student or group of students have continual behavioural problems the college reserves the right to review the place(s) on the course. Health and safety All attendance at the college is subject to conforming with the college Health and Safety policy. All students must be covered by a tetanus vaccination. Students must be made aware of the need for good hygiene whilst at college and the need for protective clothing (also see HSE information sheet AIS23). Protective clothing For safe working the students must be appropriately dressed for tasks they will be undertaking and it is the responsibility of the organisation to ensure this. If students are not appropriately dressed they may not be able to take part on certain activities or they may have to return to school. The college reserves the right to arrange return transport to school the cost of which lies with the school. The accompanying table details clothing requirements. Exam or certification registration It is the responsibility of the organisation to register students for examinations. It is also the responsibility of the organisation to pay for any associated registration certification fees. It is the responsibility of the organisation to internally verify coursework assignment briefs, e.g. for GNVQ/GCSE courses. For those following the AQA Unit Award Scheme, BBC will be responsible for the registration of students, but the organisation will be responsible for payment of associated fees. Special Educational Needs and Student Profile BBC requires notification of any needs to ensure effective delivery of a curriculum link programme (please complete a student profile form for each student). Where a student is working towards a GNVQ or GCSE the college MUST receive performance indicators. New Students The schools co-ordinator requires one month’s notice of any new student joining an existing course. A student profile form must be completed for every new student. Health considerations BBC should be made aware of any allergies, respiratory problems or other health factors that may affect student progress. Supervision The college will provide supervision during contracted class time e.g. lunch time, outside these hours it is the responsibility of the organisation, unless prior arrangements have been made. The organisation is obliged to supply support staff as defined in the contract, if there is a failure to fulfil this obligation BBC reserve the right to charge for any extra staffing charges incurred. Teaching cover Every effort will be made to cover for staff absences, however there may be occasions when the cancellation of a session is necessary, or the use of a tutor from another subject area in order to cover for staff absence. In the event of this BBC will give the organisation as much notice as possible. If BBC cancel a teaching session the organisation will not be charged Group size The maximum contracted size of the group must be adhered to, this has been determined by the numbers which can be safely supervised for a range of activities, if the group size is exceeded the organisation must pay for or provide extra assistance. Resources For examination courses it will be the responsibility of the organisation to see that students come suitably equipped for the course, e.g. A4 lever arch file, A4 manilla folders, lined paper, pens, pencils. Jewellery The organisation must ensure that the students remove all jewellery before attending BBC.
