PRINCIPALS REPORT NATIONAL DAY OF ACTION AGAINST BULLYING AND VIOLENCE Schools across Australia are being called to get involved and take action on the ninth National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence (NDA) on Friday 15 March 2019. Our school has registered our involvement. The theme for the 2019 National Day of Action is Bullying. No Way! Take action every day. Schools have the chance to take action and empower young people to be part of the solution when addressing bullying in their school community. It provides an opportunity to focus on bullying and the big changes we can make to create safer communities for everyone. As a whole school we will sign a pledge against bullying and create a visual display as an ongoing reminder of support. Classes will have a series of activities and lessons and will promote the whole school Bullying. No Way!message. GUITAR LESSONS We had a good response to our offer of guitar lessons at school but unfortunately, there are not enough student expressions of interest for lessons to start this term. We are hoping that there may be some extra interested students who would like to start guitar lessons. If so, please send back the form to school asap or contact Fiona or Erin to register your interest. There is the possibility of there being a guitar students could use here at school if they don’t have one of their own. Please let us know by Wednesday 13th of March if you are interested in guitar lessons.

SCHOLASTIC BOOK CLUB Book club order forms were sent home last week with our newsletter. Orders and payment should either be completed online or returned to school Thursday 14th March.

UNIFORM ORDERS The Term 1 Uniform Order was sent home last week. Orders and money are due back to the school office by Friday 22nd March.

LCSDA CROSS COUNTRY & JUNIOR FUN DAY This year’s Cross Country & Junior Fun Day is happening on Friday 29th March at Malone Park Recreational Reserve (Marong Football Oval). We are looking for some parent helpers for the day to help with directing the students around the course. It’s really easy, you can bring along a camp chair, and as they children come along, send them in the right direction!! If you can help out on the 29th of March, please contact Fiona at the office or Karen Rees (PE teacher).

EASTER EGG HUNT On the final day of Term One, it’s a tradition to hide bundles of small, chocolate Easter Eggs in classrooms for students to find. We ask that every family donates a packet of small, solid, plain chocolate eggs per student. Due to allergies, we ask that you please do not donate filled eggs or eggs containing nuts. Please place your donations in the basket in the office. We will also be looking for a team of mums/dads/grandparents to bundle the eggs into small bags early in the final week of school and another small team to hide the eggs in classrooms on Friday 5th April. Please let Fiona know if you can help with this.

COLOUR RUN FUNDRAISER—LAST DAY TERM 1 Once again we are organising our annual “Lap-A-Thon” colour run for the last day of Term 1. We have booked a Colour Run through CUA School Fundraising. Students will participate in a lap-a-thon of our fitness track. Parents and families are welcome to come along and join in the fun with us as well. Attached to the newsletter is information regarding our Colour Run Lap-a-Thon fundraiser and how the students can help raise money to help with purchasing new maths resources for students.
