    8 9 Integral cycle controlled AC power without generatingharmonics:/ntegralcycle control is a method to remove

    portions of full cycles/one cycle of an AC signal forcontrolling AC power across AC heater loads interfaced to a

    programmed microcontroller. This process of power controlgenerates 1% THD as against 61% of firing angle control.

    9 10 High power AC to DC by thyristor firing angle control:DCpower is controlled with zero crossing detectors and sendingto the microcontroller to fire thyristors using the optoisolator. The ac power is applied to the bridge rectifier

Conventionalcircuit breaker is based on thermal bimetal lever tripmechanism is very slow and the trip time is dependant uponthe percentage of overload. Here the current sensed from aCT is compared against the preset voltage proportional to thecurrent by a level comparator to generate an output for thecontactor to trip the load.

    11 12 Automatic irrigation system on sensing soil moisturecontent:Thecircuit comprises of sensor parts built using op-amp and areconfigured here as a comparator. Two stiff copper wires areinserted in the soil to sense whether it is dry. The
