    The Greater Irving-Las ColinasChamber of Commerce recently partnered withthe DFW Humane Society on a joint mixer atthe new shelter. The event exposed the state-of-the art Irving Animal Care Campus to localand regional business leaders in an effort to

    promote the importance of pet adoptions andthe need for resources for the DFW HumaneSociety, a 501(c) 3, non-profit organization. Thewell-attended event included a pet art auctionand tours of the campus which has just receivedseveral puppies on the day of the mixer.

    The Chamber is proud to support sucha fine organization as the DFW Humane Society,whose team represents the model for animalwelfare and advocacy, said Chris E. Wallace,Chamber President/CEO and member of theDFW Humane Society Board of Directors. The

    Tulsa, Okla. Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) in Tulsa is pleased toannounce the election of Irving, Texas, residentChristina Gears to its board of directors.

    Gears is CEO and president of Creating & Managing Wealth, LLC, which has offices in Tulsa and Irving.She also hosted a radio talk show in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area on KRLD-AM1080, where she was known as Ms. Biz and empowered women to becomeactive in their personal finances. With a strong personal belief of empoweringnot only women but an entire community, Gears has been active in multipleorganizations, such as serving on the board of directors for Irving SchoolsFoundation since 2008 and on the Irving Fire Foundation since 2006. Inaddition, she has served on the Investment Advisory Committee for the DallasWomens Foundation since 2007, following six years serving on the boardfor the Dallas Womens Foundation.
