Lowderman Sale Facility I Colchester, IL
FRIDAY, FEBRUARY12:00 CST
SIMMENTAL SALE
TH
Though we are only two months into 2021 it is beginning to be full swing on expo time across the Midwest. We started out with a few changes with conference calls with all the expos and state Associations. The Illinois Associations took the lead and moved on with plans with a few minor changes. One thing for sure the quality has not stopped just view the catalog and make your plans to attend the sale. Yes, the location has changed to the Lowderman’s sale facility. The performance bull test sale and the Simmental sale will be at this facility. The Simmental breed has loads to offer and it is evident this year at the Mid America sale. Not to mention it is a great opportunity to get new and old Simmental breeders involved in the breed and in their state associations. The state association sponsored event is special with the sale and the banquet. The Simmental breeders from Illinois are very supportive of this event, and of their state association. These consignors who are involved in the Mid-America Simmental Sale have hand selected the cream of the crop genetics from their operations to be on display in Macomb/Colchester. We realize as a sale management team the work that has been put into the cattle consigned and the efforts of the breeders involved. The sale offering is strong no doubt. After just returning home from the National show in Oklahoma City, your state had a good showing for sure. It is evident the Simmental is will accepted in all sectors of the beef industry.
We invite you to look through the catalog and visit with the consignors concerning their individual lots. These breeders know their animals, genetics, and their operations, and are proud to share them with potential buyers. If you are looking for Simmental genetics, take a hard look at the offering in the Mid-America Simmental Sale, and see how they could bring value to your program. The breeders in Illinois assemble some of the finest genetics in the Simmental breed so all of the opens, breds, bulls, and genetic lots are of the highest quality. Don’t forget this year to select your show prospect for the AJSA regionals, Nationals, state fair, county fair or even advance your operation large or small. So study all the information included in the catalog, the sale lots, the upcoming events and become more involved in your association and the exciting times in the Simmental breed.
We hope that you will join the Illinois Simmental Association on Friday at the sale and the banquet will follow about a hour after the sale and in the same facility. We look forward to seeing you at the Mid-America Simmental Sale! We will see you Friday morning while the Simmental sale cattle will be on display. Visit with the sale chairman John Bauer and the President Scott Frederick. Look us up or call Drew, Holli, or I if any questions.
P.S. Watch our facebook page and/or website for sale updates, videos, interviews, sale orders and such. Also, a great donation is offered by the Boitnott family with the proceeds going to assist in the AJSA Jr Nationals hosted by your state.

If your in tune with the ins and outs of the Simmental breed, chances are you’ve heard of our infamous Hoya Saxa donor. To say she has done incredible things for our herds is nothing short of impeccable. Hoya Saxa (or as we like to call her-Madonna) has generated champions year after year, not to mention big dollars for the incredible females. 2016 brought great things regarding Hoya Saxa genetics, as she raised the Grand Champion Bred and Owned Purebred Female at 2016 Junior Nationals and that female now is a leading donor for Tree Lane Farms and Richie Farms. 2018 Madonna raised a Hammer daughter that went on to win Champion Purebred Simmental Female at the North Central Regional Classic. Fast forward, many raised heifers in between that have won jackpot shows, breed shows, and have pulled banners in there breed through several different states- were in 2020 and she raised the INFAMOUS in herself Hoya Saxa x Pays to Believe daughter owned by the Udell and Noble family that has now been Triple Crowned as she has dominated the Purebred Simmental ring at American Royal, North American Livestock Exposition and the most recent Cattlemen’s Congress in OKC. This mating has proven to be an incredible combination and we couldn’t be more proud of the genetics our donor has created. We are excited to give Simmental breeders an opportunity to get in on these full sib genetics. They’re ones you will be proud to put back into your herd. These full sib to the Triple Crown Udell Female sexed female IVF embryos will be sure to bring success to your program, no questions asked.

Whether you have went thru the footnotes on the other lots on this great cow family hopefully you have a few of these in person. Hoya Blue at the Jr Nationals was the Bred and Owned winner however the comments during the week and the day of the show was overwhelming to us as breeders. The heifer embryos will try into profit really quick. If you are a patient person get a heifer on the ground and let be your next donor. The embryos sell with a guarantee of one pregnancy. We hope you get all three and help us carry on the winning tradition. Another plus is the winning combination of Relentless.

What an exciting opportunity to acquire genetics out of this young donor. The Beauty N Grace x Relentless mating has been very consistent for us. Relentless Beauty has been a standout since birth and proven herself in the show ring being named Res Calf Champion 2018 Simmental Breeders Sweepstakes and Res Calf Champion 2018 IL State Fair. She then sold in the Illini Elite Sale to Cody York for $10,000 and he also had success with her being Land of Lincoln Res Champion at the 2019 IL State Fair and Res Champion at the DuQuoin State Fair JR show just to name a few. With us retaining interest in this female we are able to offer you these eggs to Silvieras Style 9303 who has dominated the show venue and produced several excellent Sim-Angus females.

Here’s one that’s unique from her build to her pedigree. I had wanted to sample Primo the second I saw him in stud, and when I saw these embryos selling I knew it was time. Two of 717’s highly sought after flushmates already sold in the “Pride of the Prairie” sale earlier this year and although all very different in type, quality has ran high. Hairy, stout, sound and a beautiful front....what more can you want?

Her dam TR Avery was a high selling donor in the Foundation Female sale to Double J Ranch. Grandam is HHSF Black Glitter. Black Glitter has had donor daughters working for Thomas Ranch, Polzin, Jass, Hilbrands, and Sloup. Glitter Baby is a 3/4 sib in blood to Data Breach. She is deep bodied, square hipped, nice fronted blaze face. Great performance and easy fleshing with an outcross pedigree to most of the popular sires.

If you are looking for a sharp fronted, pretty as a picture female dig your spurs in. 621F, her young dam knocked it clean out of the park on her first calf sired by Step Up. 621F was handpicked out of Shipwrecks replacement pen and I’ll promise you this, you’ll be hard pressed to find a prettier cow. I’ve said this time and time again, but I can’t resist bringing it up again.......Step Up females have picture perfect udders and a running gear for the long haul.

The Data Breach cattle have certainly been functional and RS Highlight is just that but may be as big centered and robust as any we have raised. Out of a Colburn Primo Angus dam we could not be more pleased with the job she did on her first two offspring! Talk about one that is pulled apart, and not unlike her mamma, RS Highlight is ultra deep centered, clean fronted, and functionally wide in her base. This heifer is clean and feminine in her hock and it makes her go so easy when asked. This is a an extremely good April born that has every right to be competitive in the SimAngus shows for her new owner with tremendous cow power when she comes off the tanbark!

I just don’t think I can rightly explain how much I like this female. Her dam, Claudette was our top pick out of the Royal classic sale a couple years back. Normally the wife is fairly conservative, but when we got to Iowa that night she said “we need to own that one” and I didn’t argue. I’m obviously partial to Revival but this mating worked out exactly as we had hoped. Her maternal sister, just fetched $5250 as a bred and don’t get me wrong I liked her, but she doesn’t even warm this one up. I think you can drive a lot of miles to find a purebred of this quality, or just come to Lowderman’s in February. Keep in mind she was pictured mid December after coming off a 20 acre pasture receiving minimal grain and free choice hay. She’ll undoubtedly blossom by sale day. Owned with Foglesong

This purebred blaze-faced March heifer sired by the popular County O does a lot of things right. So up headed and extended when she is on the profile. She is really smooth jointed and flexible in her movement. In addition to all of that, she has the extra power and dimension needed to make a true foundation breeding piece. This heifer’s breeding versatility is unmatched and will work in many breeding programs. She has a heart of gold and is first year showman ready!

This May born female is a maternal sib to the County O lot 23A heifer in this sale. Pictured here is the dam of these two heifer calves. This Legendary daughter was a little greener at picture time and we decided to hold off on picturing her. Since then she has done all the right things and is one that will grab your attention sale day. Awesome looking from the profile, big feet and legs, and has all the power and stoutness you could want. When it’s all said and done she might be the best one of the pair- Be sure not to miss this heifer on sale day!

No holes type of female coming from a cow that never misses. I went all in on Logic, not only from looking at him but knowing his full sibs absolutely dominated the show ring, and I don’t regret it. Talk about her Dam B130, just produced a $5000 bred this year, a $5500 open last year, and a “keep” heifer the year before. If that’s not consistency then I don’t know what is. The KBHR cows have done us a world of good, not only from a dollar’s standpoint but they do what all cows should. Raise a big calf and breed back in time over and over. If you’d like to show this heifer that’s great, but if you are looking for one to be profitable the rest of her life I would take a long hard look at this one.

We were extremely pleased with the result in our consignments last year, and left knowing we wanted to put some great cattle together for the next year. Walking through the lot picking out expo consignments obviously this red heifer caught my eye the same she has dozens of times. You know, a red one is always catchy and cool, but a good red one is unique. She comes to you out of a first calf heifer chosen by the Foglesong family as a high seller at the Pride of the Prairie sale a few years ago commanding $9,500 by the time the gavel dropped. Her young sire Road trip is paving his own way producing females of this caliber, most recently a daughter won her division at the Cattleman’s congress. She and all of the other consignments were pulled out of the replacement lot mid December and pictured after just “roughing” it on a 20 acre pasture. When you see her in February I promise you’ll be impressed! Owned with Foglesong.

If you want a bull with a pile, I mean a pile of center body dive in here. Beyond that a beautiful set to his back leg, big hoof, plenty good enough fronted, and a great attitude. His dam D307 was the high selling open in a prior Pride of the Prairie, selected by one of our partners. We don’t take keeping bulls in tact lightly, from a prominent cow family I think this guy has a lot to offer from a phenotype standpoint as well as real world production.

We were trying to think of how we could help support the National Classic and decided what better way than to donate a show heifer. Boitnott Taylormade is dual papered as a %Simmental and Maintainer. Both sets of papers can be transferred. Taylormade has been shown several times throughout the summer, fall and winter. She was even shown in Louisville where she placed 3rd in a competition class. Her dam DLS Black Cherry was very successful in the showring and year after year produces top notch calves, topping sales from Denver, Louisville, Iowa and Illinois Beef Expo. Boitnott Taylormade is easy feeding and as tame as they come, she will be great for any age showman!
