is nestled into a cul-de-sac in one of Concord’s most sought af t er neighborhoods. This renovated, exceptional 12-plus room colonial sits on the edge of the beautiful and lush Great Woods Conservation area and is surrounded by nature’s beauty. The home is but a brief stroll from Concord Center and the Old North Bridge. For more than thirty years, this colonial has been home to the same family. During that time an addition was completed, which included the expansive master suite, kitchen, family room, exercise room, and a magnificent great room that boasts an amazing wall of windows. When entering the sunlit front hall, flanked by ample closets on either side, you will immediately notice the finely finished hardwood floors found throughout. The first floor study could also serve as a playroom, as it is just steps from the kitchen and family room. Additionally, multiple first floor rooms offer access to the large screened-in porch. The welcoming porch features a beautifully finished bead-board ceiling, which will quickly become a favorite area for three-season enjoyment. Mature plantings ring the property, offering exceptional privacy for the porch and the backyard.

One of the most compelling areas is the great room. Three spaces are made one, thanks to the open floor plan which combines the kitchen, family dining area, and family room with vaulted ceilings into an open and airy great room. This space reaches from the updated kitchen at the front of the home to the entertainment-focused family room. Natural light flows easily through the walls of windows overlooking the private back lawn and conservation land beyond. The spacious kitchen and family dining area is enhanced by a finely wrought cherry maple paneled brick fireplace, complimented by a wood-burning stove. The fireplace is flanked by bookshelves on one side, and a pair of closets on the other. “Breathtaking” is the only word to describe this space.

“ensconced in acres of natural beauty, this generous and spacious home combines classic

style and modern conveniences.”

With the built-in Sub-Zero refrigerator, Bosch dishwasher, downdraft range in the center i sl and, custom cabinetry, updated appliances and fixtures throughout, this well-appointed kitchen exceeds expectations. Corian countertops provide plenty of space for simultaneous cooking and entertaining with family and friends. The formal dining room is just steps off the kitchen area, large enough to accommodate a ten-plus-seat dining table, and it has a quintessential New England feel for traditional holiday gatherings. The spacious formal living room spans the width of the house. This grand room again offers floor-to-ceiling windows.

The second floor sports the luxurious master suite and three additional well-proportioned bedrooms. The master suite is impressive, featuring multiple closets, an ensuite bath and a bonus room that could be used as an exercise room or nursery. The spacious master bath is graced with a double vanity, large shower and separate water closet. Like the bonus room, the master bath enjoys high ceilings and above-average natural light courtesy of several skylights. The other three bedrooms share two additional updated full bathrooms.

The walk-out lower level offers an additional 1,100-plus square feet of finished space, currently divided into several large rooms consisting of a second family room, an office with the home’s second fireplace, and a gym. The lower level offers any number of attractive options for any homeowner. Also featuring a full bath and potential guest space, this area could easily serve as an in-law or au pair suite.

Within walking distance to Concord Center, this perfectly scaled home offers a lifestyle that exceeds expectations.

“Sited on .75 acres, this light, bright

classic colonial blends complete

privacy, but is only steps from Downtown

Concord.”

Concord, signifying agreement and harmony, was incorporated as the first inland settlement in Massachusetts through a grant from the Massachusetts General Court dated September 12, 1635. As the scene of the first battle of the American Revolutionary War (War for Independence) on April 19, 1775, it is considered the birthplace of the nation, where the “shot heard ‘round the world” for liberty and self government was fired.

During the middle of the 19th century, Concord was home to some of the greatest literary and transcendental minds in America. Authors Henry David Thoreau, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Bronson and Louisa Alcott, and Nathaniel Hawthorne all lived, worked and wrote in Concord, and signs of their presence in the community remain to this day through the abundance of historic and cultural resources offered. Within walking distance of Concord Center are The Concord Museum, Orchard House, the Old Manse, the Old North Bridge, Minuteman National Historic Park, Emerson House, and Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. Walden Pond, which served as the inspiration for Thoreau’s Walden in 1854, is nearby and offers a variety of recreational opportunities and hiking trails. The Concord Free Public Library, Concord Art Association, Emerson Umbrella studios for visual and performing arts, and the Performing Arts Center (which is home to the Concord Orchestra, the Concord Band, and the Concord Players) are all in the downtown area.

Located 20 miles west of Boston, Concord’s population has remained stable at 16,000 over the past several decades. It is a picturesque New England community of handsome residences, preserved open spaces, family-owned farms and thriving commercial centers. The town is served by MBTA commuter rail to Boston, Cambridge and Fitchburg; and a commuter bus to Boston. State highway Route 2 runs through Concord, and Routes 128/95 and 495 are conveniently accessed.
