Review/Debrief of Graduation Interactive activity (see attachment from Debs email

    12/3/2007)

Overall thoughts? The notes are not easy to digest, from Class 7 the break-out sessions

were already over and the crew was more in a mindset to meet alumni and share timetogether. Personal interactions needed more time to develop rather than another facilitatedsession.New grads want to hear how the NRLI is used by real people. Want to meet folksin less structured setting networking opportunities? Can we set it up for folks to meetalumni by an interest subject.

The graduating class also needed time to say good bye to each other in a non-formalsetting. Expected that the last morning but instead were loaded with new session.

General support for the Life After NRLI panel followed by loose networking time withalumni and time for current class to wrap up.

Wendy-Lin: Please send Teresa half dozen copies of NRLI brochure. If possible put thisonline for download as well.

    Opportunities for alumni participation

o Sponsored event at Capitol (February 21-23?, 2008) during NRLI class and

legislative session. Need more info on course that Stan Bronson is doing one2/22/08 (FL Earth Foundation) Need to share with BOD to see if we can generatealumni participants?

o Upcoming conferences? Need to get alumni brochures to hand out.

Informal recruiting opportunities. Maybe post these on the website to seek each other out.

PLAM is Planned Land Acquisition and Mgt conference, Dec. 5 7, SarasotaPublic Interest Enviro Conference, Feb 27 March 1st, 2008, at UF in GainesvilleConference on Adaptive Mgt. Everglades in Jan.o Contact professional organizations and more private sectors, and agencies to

try to get conference dates, speaking opportunities, or publication submissions.o Other ideas?

We need to talk about generating scholarship $ for more diverse participation. There are acouple going out this session 1 sea turtle & 2 waterfront residents, another water issue.

Would like to use NRLI alumni dues in the future to pay for scholarship.

NRLI Alumni shirts (this was thought of a while back needs follow up)

Bob Teitz has been given the info and should be prodded to get the ball rolling on t-shirts.(Will Bruce Delaney prod him? Wendy-Lin?)

NRLI Alumni eNewsletter (again, discussed a while back and needs follow up)

Survey shows that folks would like e-newsletters for maintaining contact. Who will dothis? Class 7 had nice reports, is there a grad to help out with it? Turns out the class 7letters were done thru the NRLI office after the class member left program.

Treasurers report (w/membership update from Wes)

$1,325. Includes 16 memberships, many of them were lifetime.

    Recruitment for Class VIII

    Recruitment materials available online

    Class VIII dates:

All BODs commit to attend at least one session. Goal is to have alumni at everysession either for program of social. Must arrange w/project team in advance.http://nrli.ifas.ufl.edu/3.html

Recently, Wendy-Lin has contacted alumni about sessions closest to them. She was askedto let folks know when they would be best integrated into the session.Deb will send alumni the 2008 schedule to let us think ahead to subjects & locations wewould be most interested in attending.

What about the Wedgworth Program? Has the NRLI crew investigated how to work withthese people to enhance each program.

Deb will email possible dates for January alumni BOD call. Please have agenda items andplans to follow up on these
