Task One (20 minutes) The text for this task is reproduced on the opposite page. It is being used in the following situation.

S is a Sales Representative for a Travel company. He is at Intermediate (CEFR B1) level and his company has booked him on a short one-to-one English course to help him improve his speaking skills. The teacher administered this test to help her plan S�s course.

Using your knowledge of relevant testing concepts, evaluate the effectiveness of the test for this learner in this situation. Make a total of six points. You must include both positive and negative points. Write your answer in your answer booklet.
