The genre of the song we are doing is …

INDIE POP … Indie pop is a subgenre of alternative rock or indie rock and a subculture that originated in the United Kingdom in the late 1970s. The style is inspired by punk's DIY ethic and related ideologies, and it generated a thriving fanzine, label, and club and gig circuit. Indie pop differs from indie rock to the extent that it is more melodic, less abrasive, and relatively angst-free. Its substyles include chamber pop and twee pop.

The concept PART1!!

The concept we have decided to go with is that of a person is stuck in the loop. This loop will continue throughout 3 days the days will reset as the important verse of “But if you close your eyes” is sang( this verse is sang 3 times in the song their for the days will rest 3 times). This first day the person has a not so good day with lots of things going wrong I.E falling of his bike because a car pulls out the second day is exactly the same as the first day with the bad incidents happening however the main character is aware of the day before and is confused at what's happening and the third day the character will have prevent all wrong from happening. The date and time will will be represented/repeated as the same time every knew day until the abrupt end of the song where the calendar changes from the 31st to the 1st of the next month .

The Concept PART 2 !

The music video will be Purely Narrative ! We know that it is risky to do a purely narrative music video as it can get boring but we our confident enough in our idea that we can ensure that it will not be boring ! Our concept allows us to implement lots of scenario that will be interesting and will be keeping the viewer interested as they want to see how the character deals with the upcoming scenario that the viewer all ready knows will happen. The character will get confused and feel like he is going insane however you will see the genuine relief at the end when he realise he broke the loop and can continue with his life.

What has been our influences?

A Big influence for our concept is the music video we seen in class of the man who is in a loop. Also the genre of Indie Pop has massively influenced our mise en sense as we are following the conventions of Indie Pop. Environments we hope to shoot in will be in poor state of disperse and the characters clothing and props will be rough and rugged looking. We have also been heavily influenced by the camera angles and movement in Ed Sheeran's A-team video which is similar to our genre and will help get the feel of the music video that we desire..

Andrew Godwins Music video conventions PART 1 !

We will have a relationship between the visuals illustrating the lyrics for example when the song sings “when you close your eyes” their will be a short transition of a blank screen as the character is represented to being going back around on the loop. Also when the lyric plays dose it almost feel like nothings changed at all on the second loop round the character will look confused when this lyric is sang.

Their will also be a relationship between the music and visuals as the tempo gradual builds until the chorus where the tempo and dynamics increase the character will be seen to be more frantic and quick with their body language compered to the other moments which the characters body language will be less frantic and the tempo of editing will be slower.
