hat a year! I am delighted to share the exciting news and results of the first year of our strategic four- year plan focused on quality, access, and community toward serving more children with more music. In this Annual Report issue, you will see the real and deep impact we are able to have with your continued generous support. Together we are working to provide solutions to the music education needs of our communities. At the helm is our Music for Minors Board of Trustees, with their solid track record of 100 percent giving, who continues to open doors and offer inspirational leadership. We are united in our belief that a solid music background should be an integral part of every child’s well-rounded education, and we thank you all–our donors, volunteers, educators, and community partners–for joining with us to make this a reality for growing numbers of kids each year. What’s ahead? We are welcoming nine new schools, extending our program into more than 700 classrooms, and reaching over 20,000 children. Going forward we are also launching new technology, piloting programs, expanding educational content, and nurturing the heart of the organization through strengthened volunteer opportunities. There is quite the creative buzz on site at our new office, the hub of day-to- day operations, trainings, workshops, resource libraries, and future development… now at one central location. Just a few days ago, I was in my office speaking with two CEOs of companies that we will be engaging in technology work. One of them remarked upon the big piece of white paper on my wall that maps out four years of growth saying, “It’s great to work with an organization that has a plan.” Well, the Music for Minors’ score will play on, celebrating more music for more children, movement by movement. Encore! Encore! There is definitely more to come… First Movement–Applause! Connect with us on Facebook! www.facebook.com/MusicforMinors W ANNUAL REPORT Summer 2014 Thanks to You!
