    Meeting from 3:05 to 4:00 pm.

    On Call:

    BOD structure - (see attachment sent) Deborah commented the NRLI AlumniAssociation website had not been updated and asked if there were anysuggested changes to the bylaws. Teresa asked if the Annual MeetingsCoordinator was an elected position. Deborah went over the BOD electedpositions and time frames. The clarifications (mostly semantics) of the newbylaws were agreed upon. With no objections, a motion was moved andaccepted on the new bylaws being accepted.

    With Hank Vinson, NRLI Class VII (replacement for NRLI Class VII AndrewWalmsleys departure) able to make decision to stay on the BOD, there will befive other positions to fill on the BOD. Deborah will send out by email a broad

    announcement in January for NRLI Class IX to start thinking about nominationsfrom their class for BOD, NRLI alumni for NRLI BOD nominations. Any pastalumni can be nominated. Special reference will be made to regions in Floridaalready represented on the BOD and requests for participation from other regionsin the state not represented.

    Graduation Dianne updated the board on the NRLI Class of 2010 graduation.It will be March 19- 20, 2010 at new downtown Hampton Inn in Gainesville. Thegraduating ceremony will be at either Emerson Alumni Hall or the SavannahGrand, both within walking distance of restaurants and hotel.

    Deborah said that Wes Wheeler will follow up with Candy on the NRLI AlumniAssociations sponsorship of the graduations Friday night reception.

    Dianne, Laila, and Burl are working on the graduation ceremonies sponsorshipand/or program agenda with a North Florida group who is a community supportorganization that targets organic farm community involvement. There are 2 - 3restaurants that receive produce from these organic farms.

    Stan brought up Mickey Switzer(?) who teaches a CSA course for communityinvolvement who might be helpful. Also mentioned: Localecopia, local organicfarm started by The Breakers, working with UF/IFAS Joan Dusky.http://www.localecopia.org/

    Burl said there were two options for the graduating ceremony program agenda:1.     Burl mentioned recent Gainesville newspaper article that talked about communityorganic farms and would try to get the article to the BOD.

    Treasurers Report: Due to Treasurer Wes Wheelers absence, there was notreasurers report.

    Recruitment: Burl Long reminded the BOD that recruitment was crucial to thesuccess of the NRLI program. He asked the NRLI BOD to:

    Work on finding and talking to agencies and organizations at everyopportunity. Especially since agencies start working on budgets in earlyspring (March).

    Put recruitment permanently on your calendar. Move them (interestedpersons) to apply to the program.

    Identify agencies that have leadership training programs whereapplicants could be found.

    Note what the upcoming conferences are around the state where NRLIcould attend and have a booth.

    Stan mentioned that he helps the lawyer association with their course CEUs andwould help NRLI apply for CEUs from the state to help recruit more applicants.

    Tuition: Candy stated that for the first time in years, tuition for the NRLI programwould be raised from $3900 early application (before July 1st) and to $4200 (afterJuly 1st). Deborah requested a breakdown of the costs for the NRLI program tohelp ease the misperception of high fees.
