Welcome to the 10th Annual Kick Off Classic Sale!

This event always holds a special place for us. Not only is it held in our home state but it is a culmination of several breeders who are very much like minded with many of the same goals in mind as they progress forward with their breeding programs. This year marks the 10th year for this event and that is a testament to the core group of breeders who make this sale happen every year and continually bring you cattle from the top of their respective herds. The Red Angus breed as a whole continues to see excellent growth as a breed and topped over 100,000 registered females this year. With many other breeds in rapid herd decline, that makes a huge statement! How do we continue to experience this growth as a breed you may ask? It’s pretty simple; the cattle are just that good. Red Angus influenced females have been identified as the premier replacement females in the industry. A multi-year study done by Superior Livestock has documented that the Red Angus influenced females that sell on their service are worth $4 to $8 a hundred weight more compared to ALL other females. A powerful statement backed up by hard data. We encourage you to study the lots offered within the pages of this catalog to source out the genetics that will work for your breeding program. If you have specific questions about any of the lots being offered, I encourage you to call either the consignor of the lots or myself and we will be more than happy to assist you in any way that we possibly can. I truly believe that there are genetics offered here that will suit any breeding program in existence. We will offer show prospects, replacement females, donor females as well as some elite frozen genetics. If you are unable to attend the sale in person, please feel free to call either myself or one of our sale staff to leave an absentee bid. Rest assured that those bids will be held in the strictest of confidence as you have come to expect from us. These 2 flashy females were the result of an embryo purchase, and those embryos were produced by Majestic Meadows before they dispersed. These heifers are out of the powerhouse Firefly donor and the great Lionheart bull who did a lot of winning in the showring. We had 2 other heifers from this mating that will be hitting the showring this fall and in 2018 and we feel both of these heifers need to have halter put on them, although young and green, they have the right pieces to be really special next summer and fall as bred heifers, juniors pay attention to these two, we are selling choice and letting you decide which one you like better.

As one of the founders of the Kick Off Classic,we at Rich Red Angus feel the importance of show casing our program! This heifer is the kind that you build a program upon! The dam is the black red carrier Miss Black Bird 510Y who was purchased in the Wild Cat dispersal by Blair Ag and came to our place as a bred heifer. Maybe a huge mistake but going to let this 5 year old go in the prime of her life. We never did get a heifer calf out of her and maybe should have flushed her but had to come up with a replacement lot in a short amount of time. From the legendary Messmer Pan-dora cow family we bought this heifer’s Glacier Marias mother as a bred heifer from one of Damar Farms first sales. The Big Rocks are always attractive and as you can see from the picture she is no exception. We’ve started a little outcross program in our herd and she is bred for a calf this fall to Rte 9 Arson 5201. He is a Red SSS Arson 85U son out of a top Canadian cow, Black Brylor Nikita 90U. We can’t promise you a heifer calf but if you get one, whatever color, she should be good and we’ll probably kick ourselves even harder! Look her over well on sale day!
