  • Prior to Mobility Labor Intensive - Forecast

Sales people give information to Business Analyst to key into BPC Business Analyst is using BPC via Excel Intensive process Contract creation Revenue Generation

Prone to errors Keying errors BA may not understand change in Contract

    15

  • Prior to Mobility Timing is an Issue

Sales Execs have to provide information early so that Business Analyst has time to key in data Last minute updates do not make weekly forecast

Finance does not see contracts and revenue generation until Business Analyst keys in data once a week

  • After Mobility Go-Live

Forecast Every Friday Sales people update contracts or create contracts while at customer

site Updates even last minute - can happen on a continuous basis Finance sees contracts and revenue generation throughout the week

in nearly real-time Able to review contracts and revenue generation Able to better understand changes in Forecast

Business Analysts back to analyzing information as opposed to being key clerks

    27

  • Whats Happening in Background?

A staging area (multiple tables and views) built that holds all the contract information Loaded with all current information from BPC Updated when new information is entered via native BPC

Mobile App reads and writes to the Staging Area When a contract is created a job is triggered to update BPC tables An email is triggered to inform Finance that a new contract is created A job is triggered to generate revenue An email is triggered to inform Finance that the revenue has been

    generated

All this is being done: Without taking BPC offline Continuous process as sales people input new contracts and changes to

existing contracts Default formulas are being trigger in the process

    Agenda

What is the whole buzz about Mobility? How to expand your BPC footprint with Mobility Push forecasting to the users who own the data Take BPC on the road with no additional hardware Reduce the cost of ownership by allowing users to access data

    anywhere, anytime

    Jump on the Mobility bandwagon

  • User Research

    Requirements Elicitation and

    Validation

    Taskflow and Scenario Development

    User Personas creation

    Information/Interaction

    Architecture

    Mobile Design of Web, Native,

    and Hybrid Apps

    Prototype Development

    Usability Testing and

    Assessments

User Research & Planning Architecture & Design Implementation, Prototyping & Testing

    What you need to consider

  • Goal of Delivery Responsive Web Design (RWD)

Web site automatically reconfigures based on the device connecting in real-time

    Desktop View

    Tablet View

    Smartphone View

  • Typical Mobile App Development

Cross Platform Development Verivo (Pyxis Mobile) PhoneGap

    HTML5 Sencha Touch JQuery Mobile

    Native Development Android BlackBerry

    J2ME (classic) C++, Cascades (new)

    iOS Windows Phone 7/8

  • Enterprise Mobile App Store

Companies want to provide a safe internal place for their apps: Internal, centrally managed app store Provide app ratings and reviews Support all mobile platforms Allow internal developers to upload their apps Apply app security (clear app data, control app access)

  • Mobile Device Management (MDM)

Traditional enterprise mobile device security model closely follows the old BlackBerry model of total device control Known as Mobile Device Management (MDM)

Advantages are that IT has full control over a mobile device Disadvantages are that the employee, who most likely purchased the mobile device

themselves, must put up with having their personal device completely taken over by their employers IT department allowingthem to see everything, block apps andfunctionality, and wipeit entirely.

Example of an Air-Watch MDM solution

  • Dual Persona (aka Containerization)

Since many companies have adopted a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) approach to mobile, traditional MDM is too restrictive and controlling Dual Persona (also known as Containerization) is a method of creating a second persona on

the mobile device specifically for work email, contacts, calendar, and apps. The container has its own security and is fully controlled by the employers IT department,

however the rest of the device is left untouched and invisible to IT. Advantages are that IT

has full control over thework container, but notthe rest of the device

Disadvantages are thatthe email, contacts, andcalendar apps inside thework container may lagbehind the features ofthe devices native apps.Older devices may notbe able to handle acontainer.
