Press Release

100th

Reference for Impulse™

the High-Performance

Hydrotreating Catalyst Technology

Three years after the successful release of a full range of hydrotreating catalysts covering all

domains from naphtha to VGO hydrotreating and hydrocracking pretreatment, Axens received its

100th

Impulse Catalyst Award in Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel (ULSD) service.

BP’s Kwinana Refinery (Australia) selected the HR 1246 CoMo catalyst following results of

pilot plant tests conducted by BP’s Refining Technology & Engineering Groups and subsequent

tendering process. Thanks to its intrinsic high activity, HR 1246 will be associated with

regenerated HR 626 and enable a less-than-10-wppm sulfur diesel product while reducing the

cost to fill.

Since the launch of Impulse catalyst technology, the market has recognized the value of this

Series of high-activity products. A success that keeps growing with several bids won every

month including a substantial number of repeat orders, recognition of the Impulse Series’

excellent performances.

Axens Axens, www.axens.net, an IFP Group affiliate, is an international provider of advanced technologies, catalysts,

adsorbents and services, with a global reputation for basic engineering design excellence. The main scope of Axens'

business is focused on the conversion of oil, coal, natural gas and biomass to clean fuels as well as production and

purification of major petrochemical intermediates. Axens’ global offer is based on: highly trained human resources,

modern production facilities and extensive commercial feedback from plants using our processes and catalysts all

around the world.
