The Passionate: The best girl friend of mine that is going to wear that would be my friend, Huda (the picture on friend1.jpeg). I am making a short baby doll dress for her. I know the details of the top seems to be confusing and all but I just can't illustrate my vision onto it! It's gonna be flounces and ruffles on the left top, but as crazy as it sounds, it's going to be really delicate and subtle. Fabric wise, most of it is going to be either taffeta or/and cotton, with tulle acting as a 'bounce' for the skirt.She's short, so I was thinking to show as much LEGS as possible to elongate her petite figure. Since she's shy and all, I planned to do a subtle dress, almostromantic, for evening wear. Think of Romeo and Juliet clubbing at Zoukout. Sweet but a twist. She recently cut her hair short, so the details on the top would compliment her funky hair-do.The

Enigma:Rohana will be wearing the piece on the right. It's a bit provocative; the shirt is going to be made out of lace and the sleeves is going to be silk or chiffon with polyester cuffs. I would just do a tube top if the garment is too sheer. The pants is going to be those biker skinny pants with gatherings at the top. Shiny, black and tight. Really shiny, black and tight! Possibly made from nylon or worst come to worse, lycra. This garment also have a peter pan collar with a long bow tie or sort.She's tall and tanned; what could you asked for! Taking advantage of her figure, I chose an idea that would bring the essence of the mysterious women that people would think, "What the hell is her problem?". Think of semi-goth Carmen Sandiego in the red light district. The look is strong yet delicate, having the soft effect from the sleeve. She has fab legs so the skinnies would bring the garment into a whole new dimension.

SKETCH 1 The first design is inspired by the Spanish Conquistador, also known as Spanish conquerors. Symbolizing a strong personality, the brave and the independent one, also symbolizing someone who dares to be different and the women who are not afraid to show their strong and more masculine side. This outfit consists of a masculine crisp purple shirt, with black waistcoat and black short balloon skirt with gold trimmings, inspired by the outfits of the old Conquistadors during 15th-19th century. This outfit is also inspired by, and designed for my friend Jessica. She has a very strong and somewhat brave personality. My most independent friend, and I see her as my big sister. I pictured her as this brave Conquistador, the leader and the brave one who is willing and able to do anything to succeed. SKETCH 2 This design is inspired by the Spanish bullfighter, also known as Matador. Symbolizing someone who is powerful, strong, very energetic, and artistic, because I see bullfighting as an art, somewhat similar to a form of dance. A black cape and a high-waisted tight skirt with cardinal red embroidery, and a cardinal red shirt to match the colour of the embroidery on the skirt and the cape. The reason I chose these two colours is because for me the two main colours that always catch my attention in a bullfighting arena are black and red. I always see the bull as the main character, and although the matadors usually wear very intricate outfits with bold and bright colours, I always see the colour of the bull as a more dominating colour, which is black, and finally at the end, with a dash of blood red.

Passion. What is passion to me.Passion is a powerful and compelling emotion to me like love.My passion is my family,friends and art. Without my family and friends I wouldn't be able to be who I am today.They keep me grounded. Cassandra,is one of my closest friend. I've known her for going on 6 years now.We both habe same passion and interest for things such as dance,music and of course clothes. Cassandra has a beautiful voice and the best part is that she writes her own material.Her songs are heartfelt. When she sings you cant help but to fall in lover with her voice. She hardly allows what people say about her bother her.She believes in the proverb, "sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me" A quality I year to have as I believe its important to not let people affect you especially when you know better.It is her fun fearless side which I love most.The passion fruit and flower has also inspired me to design these two dresses.I will be using passion fruit colours such as marooon,purple and green for the dresses. Seeing how the lines and patterns on the flower petals flow to culminate into a symphony of colours has inspired me the most. It is a beautiful flower and it has inspired me to design my dresses.

My name is Delly andriani and here is the 2 sketches of my theme which is The Passionate.. Basically i am inspired by my best friend, Jessica. From i know about her, she is an energetic girl with big passion in every single thing in her life from school, friendship, and love. She is work hard and put effort to get something that she want. To reveal her strong attitude i am using thick and structure materials and combine with lace ( in the hem, sleeves) to show her feminine side. Colors will be blue indigo, black and purple.

Theme: The Environmentalist

Description: Used and rejected garments are reused, deconstructed for a recreation of a whole new garment, which i call a spontaneous prototype. Inspirations are drawn from my best friends, in fact most of my closest friends around me, the green, eco-friendly people who seeks priority in keeping the earth green and clean. I draw inspirations from Biology, science and surgery. Think, intestines, molecules, mutant and genetic disorders. To me breaking down an old garment aka deconstruction, in this case, the old clothes, in the context of science and biology is like breaking down a chain of human genes. Complicated as it seems, the concept is very simple to gasp, Rethinking the silhouette and Reconstructing a garment. Like Biology, deletion of gene in the helix and insertion of desirable genes. This might sometimes cause a mutation in the structure, thus, the final product with somehow look like a mutated and distorted object as supposed to it's initial aesthetics, however, all is gone, new hope is given to the garment. Ugly and distorted it might seem, nevertheless, i believe that all ugly things have their beautiful and serene side too. The designs are highly experimental and unpredictable during construction and is what i call a beautiful disaster.

Dress 1: Multiple sleeve duo tone shirt dress- A Dress sewn together with duplicated sleeves of different sizes from different shirts, sewn at random or even organized locations on the dress. The shirt is sewn together in mostly, black and white fabric to create a contrast and emphasis on the asymmetrical aesthetics of the dress.

Dress 2: Shirt replica dress- The shirt dress is made up of multiple shirts in tones of black and white. Distortion, contrast and whimsical are the key words on my mind while designing this piece of unconventional beauty.*Outfits are 100% made by used or rejected clothes or fabrics. Colour, fabric textures, sizes and placement of pieces are subjected and might vary depending on the garments and fabrics i can find. However, i might improvise and tweak the initial design as i construct but aesthetic wise, the final outcome will be as close to what you have seen on the sketches.
