On 13th March certificate distribution ceremony for Pre-KG and KG-I students was held .

Equal opportunities have been given to the students so that they realize their true potential.

It's very heart whelming moment for all of us to see the growth of the students throughout the academic session.

GRADUATION DAY On 14th March BIS celebrated the Graduation Day of Kindergartners. The ceremony began with an invocation dance followed by welcome speech of Kindergarten Coordinator. The kindergartners flawlessly compered the entire show under the guidance of the teachers. The celebration witnessed the joy and pride as the children spoke about their journey in kindergarten. The students were felicitated with the certificates for Sports Day, Story Writing, Show and Tell and Poem Recitation. The ceremony ended with vote of thanks by the School Principal to the parents and BIS fraternity. BIS Directors congratulated all the young graduates and the proud parents. They wished them all the best wishes for their bright future.

WORKSHOP BY A CURRICULUM EXPERT AT BIS

Ms. Annu Khatri, Curriculum Designing Expert for Indian Schools and Delhi Government Schools organised a parents workshop at BIS on 9th March 2019. Ms. Annu has written various activity books for kindergarten. She is a NCERT trained Resource person and has been associated in training and guiding Kindergarten teachers on how to have productive teaching learning in a classroom while following strategies and techniques catering to different needs of the learners.

The workshop focused on the curriculum for KG II along with activities. She also shared the parenting tips so as to develop children into better , socially active and disciplined human beings. Kindergarten teachers equally shared the various strategies that they use for teaching reading, differentiating between vowels & consonants, developing mathematical skills and making them aware about the environmental concepts. Overall it was an enriching , educative and knowledgeable session.

TEACHERS’ ORIENTATION

“Empowering teachers is the key to enhancing education.”

Teachers are our greatest assets in the society. They have the

ability to inspire, empower, and foster environment of self-

confidence, passion and nurture the lives of the students. With

an aim to create effective mentors, a week long teacher’s

workshop was conducted for kindergarten teachers by NCERT

trained kindergarten curriculum expert Ms. Annu Khatri . She

guided the teachers about the new age teaching methodology for

the kindergarteners and how the five domains of a child need to

be developed in the foundation years. She trained the teachers how a purposeful play can enhance the

skills of the students and lay the strong base for their future .Teachers were empowered with concrete

ideas to make the teaching learning process interactive and informative.

PARENT ORIENTATION PROGRAMME

On 23rd March an orientation programme was

organised for the parents of newly admitted

children .The aim was to familiarize the

parents, “as partners in progress” with the

school policies, curriculum, rules and

regulations, teaching methodologies and the

co-scholastic activities. The programme

commenced with a warm welcome by the

school Principal .In his speech he enlightened

the parents about the Bhavan’s policies and

principles. The parents were given an overview

of the kindergarten layout by the kindergarten

coordinator Ms. Sharil Dimri. She briefed the

parents about the curriculum which involves self-directed, hands-on learning activities which helps

the child to explore the creative talents and energies. She laid the focus on sending healthy and home

cooked food and inculcating good eating habits. The orientation proved to be a sincere effort made by

the school in educating the parents about the upcoming experiences with the school.

INTERNATIONAL SPELL BEE WINNERS AWARDED AT BIS The International Spell Bee winners of the academic year 2018-19 were awarded on 28th March at BIS by the Chairman- Mr. Ramachandran along with the Directors, Principal and the Coordinator.

It was indeed a proud moment for the parents as Rachna Redla & Sunish Sunil Bayalan -3rd runner up got 750 dollar cash prize along with a trophy followed by Steve Chalil Biju -4th runner up who got 500

dollar cash prize along with a trophy and Rayan was given an Apple I pad which he won during a lucky draw after the competition. BIS Chairman, Directors and Principal applauded the efforts of the students and gave a message to the students to soar new heights.

ORIENTATION SESSION FOR GRADE 1 PARENTS

Orientation for the parents of Grade I students was held on 26th March, 2019. Educator Ms Renjini briefed the parents about the aim of the curriculum along with the scholastic and the co-scholastic subjects. Parents were informed to check the year plan, weekly lessons and activities from the LMS.

Dr Preet Kamal explained about division of timings, breaks, book schedule, reinforcement session, internal & external competitions and the assessment pattern.

Question Answer Session was conducted by Principal Mr. Saji Jacob. He also appreciated the efforts of parents for taking out time from their busy schedules to attend the program.

Overall , it was an informative and interactive session.
