Shooting DetailsLocation: Rylands Recreational ground (Outside Storeroom)Time/Date: 11am 29/11/12Lighting Conditions: Winter, Midday, Sunny.Camera: Canon EOS 1100DAperture: F/20Shutter Speed: 1/1600Long Depth of Field

CommentaryI asked my model to start jabbing towards the camera, and jumping lightly on his toes. As he was doing this I took a series of photograph’s using different F Stops to get a long depth of field and a fast shutter speed to capture the fast jabs and to avoid handshake. Framing the image in the middle of the screen gave me the option to crop later and to remove the ‘Non Smoking’ sign with the clone stamp tool.Taking the photo I did some standing up shots and for others I crouched on my haunches to give a low angle effect.

This image works well advertising my energy drink brand as the theme around the brand is fighting and preparing for the fight. There are some faults with this image however:

•The Non-Smoking sign would make editing hard.•The light is bright and shines on the background and makes the model squint.

Shooting DetailsLocation: Rylands Recreational Club (Outside Changing Rooms)Time: 11am 29/11/12Lighting Conditions: Winter, Midday, Sunny.Camera: Canon EOS 1100DAperture: F/18Shutter Speed: 1/3200Long Depth of Field

CommentaryI asked my model to crouch on his haunches and stare off into the distance. This was made difficult as the sun was shining in his eyes and so made him squint. I took the picture with an Aperture of F/18 and got a long depth of field, this is because all of the picture is in focus. The model was looking in the wrong direction so this image did not create the rules of thirds effect but the photograph could still be used for close ups of the fist.Taking this shot I crouched on my haunches so I was at the same level as the model.

This image is useful as it clearly shows the fist which could be cropped out and used in my brochure.

The faults with this picture are that the model is looking the wrong way so the rule of thirds does not apply and the light is bright making him squint.

Shooting DetailsLocation: Rylands Recreational Club (Outside storage unit)Time: 11am 29/11/12Lighting Conditions: Winter, Midday, Sunny.Camera: Canon EOS 1100DAperture: F/18Shutter Speed: 1/2000Long Depth of Field

CommentaryI asked my model to crouch to sit on a large sand bag holding his fist up as if he was promoting a fight. This photograph was taken in the shade.I took the picture with a long depth of field (Aperture F/18) so all of the picture was sharp.

I managed to get the rule of thirds in this shot with the model positioned on the right looking into the left of the shot which is filled with blank space.

This picture would be useful for my front cover, the ‘Grip Tight’ title could be placed on the black window ledge. The picture completely fits with my fighting theme.

The only faults with this picture is the light is shining on part of my model and he is slightly squinting.

Shooting DetailsLocation: Rylands Recreational Club (Inside changing rooms corridor)Time: 11am 29/11/12Lighting Conditions: Dim LightingCamera: Canon EOS 1100DAperture: F/10Shutter Speed: 1/250Long Depth of Field

CommentaryI asked my model to stand up on the right hand side of the corridor holding up his fists as if he was about to fight or promoting a fight. I took this photograph with a long depth of field creating the symmetry effect, all of the background is also in focus to give more options when editing.

This picture is useful for my brochure as there is a lot of space around the model in which I can write text about my products. The water on my models T-shirt resembles sweat.

There are no real faults with this picture, it is exactly how I wanted it to be.

Shooting DetailsLocation: Rylands Recreational Club (Corridor of changing rooms)Time: 11am 29/11/12Lighting Conditions: Dim LightingCamera: Canon EOS 1100DAperture: F/5.6Shutter Speed: 1/400Short depth of Field

CommentaryI asked my model to hold his arm straight with his fist clenched as if he has just thrown a straight punch at the camera. The short depth of field puts the fist in focus and the background out of focus creating an interesting image.

This is highly useful for my brochure as it fits the theme completely and is the interesting image I was looking for. I could change the contrast of the picture to make it more interesting and crop it down to just the fist or just the model if I wanted to.

The only faults with this picture are that maybe the picture would be better further down the corridor with no open door, however the door could symbolise a new path.

Shooting DetailsLocation: Rylands Recreational Club (Inside Home changing room)Time: 11am 29/11/12Lighting Conditions: Dim LightingCamera: Canon EOS 1100DAperture: F/3.5Shutter Speed: 1/200Long depth of Field

CommentaryI asked my model to start jabbing the locker, he did this with some force to create the real effect. The long depth of field makes the whole image in focus allowing more options when editing.

This is useful for my brochure as it can be used with a sequence of photo’s showing the progression of how him hitting the wardrobe. This shot is the starting shot with him guarding his face.

The faults with this shot is that he may should have perhaps guarded his face with his left hand and I could of used a higher shutter rate.

Shooting DetailsLocation: Rylands Recreational Club (Inside Home changing room)Time: 11am 29/11/12Lighting Conditions: Dim LightingCamera: Canon EOS 1100DAperture: F/3.5Shutter Speed: 1/200Long depth of Field

CommentaryThis photograph was taken in quick succession after the last with the model still in the process of jabbing the locker. In this shot he has moved his hands away from his face and too his waist in preparation to throw a punch at the locker.

The short depth of field is consistent with the first photograph as this is the next stage. This will go alongside the first photo as a progression of him punching the locker.

The faults with this picture is their is little lighting making shadows on the models face and arms, this could make it hard for editing.

Shooting DetailsLocation: Rylands Recreational Club (Inside Home changing room)Time: 11am 29/11/12Lighting Conditions: Dim LightingCamera: Canon EOS 1100DAperture: F/3.5Shutter Speed: 1/200Long depth of Field

CommentaryThis photograph was taken in quick succession after the last two. This one the model has moved his arm forward as he is about to throw the punch. This shot filmed in a long depth of field creates a sharp image to keep with the consistency of the other shots.

Like the last picture the only fault with this is their is shading on the models face and arms, his facial expression is also slightly weird but.

This will be used in progression with the last two pictures and fits into the theme of fighting. His arm and neck muscles can be seen, creating detail in the shot.

CommentaryThis picture is the final of the punch photo’s. In this picture the model has actually thrown the punch at the locker. The shot like the rest is long depth of field so the whole shot is sharp allowing consistency from the previous shot and allow easy editing.

The faults with this shot is that the camera moved slightly when taking and so the dark lighting made the wall seem yellow.

Commentary

I wanted to promote a different sport aside from boxing/fighting and so asked my model to go outside and change clothes into a Rugby shirt. I asked him to stand up and look straight with a Rugby ball. I crouched down low to get a dominant shot of him and the sky behind.

The shot is long depth of field as the picture would not look right if the background sky clouds were blurry.

This would be useful for my brochure as another sport aside from boxing to be used.

The only fault with this shot is the telephone ruins the effect of the photograph and my be difficult to edit out.
