Objectives of the YIA programme

• Promotion of young people’s active citizenship in general and their European citizenship in particular

• Development of solidarity and tolerance among young people

• Fostering of mutual understanding between young people from different countries

• Improvement of the quality of support systems for youth activities and the capabilities of civil society organisations in the youth field

• Promotion of European cooperation in the youth field

Target Groups

Young people aged between 13 and 30 (individuals or groups), independently of their level of education or social and cultural background

A non-profit or non-governmental organisation A local, regional public body An informal group of young people A body active at European level in the youth field (ENGO), having

member branches in at least 8 Programme Countries An international governmental non-profit organisation A profit-making organisation organising an event in the area of

youth, sport or culture

Specific priorities of the Eastern Partnership Youth Window

Priority in awarding grants under this Window will be given to:

– Projects demonstrating a clear commitment to provide support to young people with fewer opportunities living in rural or deprived urban areas

– Projects raising awareness about the nature of youth work

– Projects promoting the sharing of best practices in the sphere of youth work

• Whom? Young from 18 to 30  (volunteers with fewer opportunities as of 16)

• What? EVS project: voluntary service up to12 months max, unpaid, full time

• Individual or group? Individual: 1 voluntary to 1 hosting organisation Group: 2 to 30 volunteers maximum sent by 1 or few sending organisations to 1 or several hosting organisations

Action 3.1 Youth Exchange

Possibility of implementing of one of the following activities:•Bilateral Youth Exchange (1 EU promoter + 1 Neighbouring country promoter)•Trilateral Youth Exchange ( at least 1 EU promoter and 1 Neighbouring country promoter, in total 3 promoters)•Multilateral Youth Exchange (at least 1 EU promoter and 2 Neighbouring country promoters, total at least 4 promoters)

• Whom? Participants between 13 and 25 years old, legally resident in the

Programme country or Neighbouring country.

• Applications to the Executive Agency:– Bodies active at the European level in the youth field;– Promoters established in Neighbouring Partner Country of South East Europe and of

the Eastern Partnership;– Promoters from Other Partner Countries of the World involved;– Intergovernmental organisations applying;– Profit-making bodies organising an event in the area of youth, sport and culture– Project application linked to large-scale European or international events

• Applications to the National Agencies:– Applications by all other eligible applicants established in a Programme Country;

Frequent mistakes• Age limit of the participants is not respected (3.1YE);

• Duration of the project and of the activity are not respected;

• Composition of the partnership not respected/Balance of promoters and of volunteers;

• Administrative lacks such as Declaration of honour not signed by the legal representative, missing Preliminary Agreements.;

• Project NOT starting within the Eligibility period;

• The applicant has submitted MORE THAN one application under each sub-Action per round;
