SUMMARY

The attached document contains proposed changes to ICAO Doc 9718, Vol. I related to GNSS (GLONASS) material

1. INTRODUCTION

1.1 WP 15 presented during the last NSP meeting (Nov./Dec. 2016) invited NSP members to provide comments on the revised version of ICAO Doc 9718 developed by the ICAO FSMP WG/3 meeting in September 2016. Analisys of the revised Doc 9718 conducted in Russia after the NSP meetimg show that some secrions of the document need additional modifications.

2. DISCUSSION

2.1 The proposed changes are concern potential interference from ultra-wide-band (UWB) devices to GNSS (GLONASS) receivers and interference from non-emergency sources to COSPAS/SARSAT receivers. Attachment to this WP contains the text of ICAO Doc 9718 “Handbook on Radio Frequency Spectrum Requirements for Civil Aviation, Volume I, ICAO spectrum strategy, policy statements and related information”, Vol. I with proposed changes highlighted in turquoise.
