HISTORY OF JOHN L. LEFLORE
MAGNET HIGH SCHOOL
• Named in honor of Mr. John L. LeFlore, a prominent civil rights leader in the 1960s• Opened in January 1981 • Graduated its first class in 1981• JROTC Program began at Toulminville High School in 1969• Designated a Preparatory Academy in 2006• Re-designated a Magnet High School in 2008

• The DAI gave us permission to not issue our LET 1 cadets the Class A Jacket due to a
shortage of this item which is no longer available in the supply system
• Purchases of name tags are obtained through JROTC ExChange…a California based company
• There will be a significant problem fitting females in Sizes 4 – 12 in the out years due the discontinuation of the green dress uniforms
