• Understanding roles and responsibilities of emergency preparedness personnel in administering PEMS– Manager, Emergency Preparedness (Area)– Manager, Emergency Preparedness (District)

Manager, Emergency Preparedness (Area)

USPS Management Position:• Knowledge and training of Postal programs and policies

related to emergency preparedness, infrastructure protection and physical security within the Area

• Provide support to implement the four phases of emergency management and coordinate emergency preparedness issues with State and Federal entities

• Establish and maintain contacts with State and Regional emergency management officials and first responders within the area to ensure a full coordination and response to emergencies

• Can be members of the Area / District / Installation EMT

• Can access PEMS information from all Facilities within the Area

• Should use PEMS as a management tool to support the phases of emergency management throughout the Area

Managers, Emergency Preparedness (District)

USPS Management Position:

• Knowledge and training of postal programs and policies related to emergency preparedness, infrastructure protection and physical security in the District

• Provide support to implement the four phases of emergency management sufficient to coordinate emergency preparedness issues with Local and State authorities

• Establish and maintain contacts with local emergency management officials and local first responders within the district to ensure a full coordination and response to emergencies
