AS A US CITIZEN, PEOPLE ENJOY CERTAIN RIGHTS

These are the liberties and freedoms given to all citizen.

Few rights, if any are considered absolute though.

Citizen’s rights and freedoms in the US are guaranteed by the Constitution.

In return for these rights, citizens owe allegiance to the government.

Amendments that protect these freedoms are: a) Bill of Rights ( the first 10 amendments) b) 14th Amendment

The Constitution also protects the equality of citizens through majority rule.

1. Read in the textbook pages 120-124.

2. Get a bag of duties and responsibilities from the teacher.

3. Using the knowledge from your reading, decide whether each item is a duty or a responsibility and write it on your chart.

4. Make sure you match the right item with the correct picture as well!!
