HOW IT WORKS1. THE SUN AS AN ENERGY CREATORthe sun is a natural renewable source

of power, which gives life to the earth

through light and heat. the process

of solar energy begins when photons

are created through the fusion of

atoms in the sun’s core, which

generates solar power.

2. SOLAR PANELSPhotons are harnessed through the

use of photovoltaic cells in solar

panels to create DC (direct current)

electricity. Solar power cells consist

of two layers of treated silicon. the

bottom layer is positively charged and

the top layer is negatively charged.

When the sun hits the panel these

electrons move to create DC (direct

current) electricity.

3. AC/DCelectrical power is delivered in two ways:

alternating Current (aC) and Direct

Current (DC). Direct Current is electricity

that moves in one direction. alternating

Current moves back and forth.

Direct Current (DC) is the only electrical

power that can be stored in a battery.

in a battery and use an inverter to have

aC power like a wall plug.
