    In the teaching of graphic design, Moholy Nagy, Herbert Bayerand Joost Schmidt subscribed to the rationalization movement,which was popular in modernist circles at that time. ... in tunewith the schools expressed commitment to functionalism,(graphic designs) were expected to use sans serif type,while asymmetry and primary colours were also advocated.
