emissions from cars and light duty trucks in the Bay Area by 15% by 2035
– House the region’s population and workforce at all income levels
Senate Bill 375• Landmark legislation
for California linking land use, transportation and environmental planning passed in 2008

SB375 Links Regional Plans
• Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) will align with and support SCS land use pattern
• Regional Housing Needs Allocation (RHNA) will be consistent with SCS
• No change to local authority over land use decisions, but Housing Elements must be revised to be consistent with SCS within 18 months, and General Plans within 3 years

Next Steps• Regional agencies release Initial Vision Scenario in
March 2011
• City staff will provide report on local implications of the Initial Vision Scenario
• City staff will gather city council input to share with regional agencies before Detailed SCS Scenarios are prepared for release in July
• TAM is convening a Marin SCS Ad Hoc Committee to track process- 1 elected from each town & county
