8 “Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. 9 Six days you
shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is a sabbath
to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor
your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your
animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns. 11 For in six days
the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in
them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed
the Sabbath day and made it holy.” (Exodus 20:8-11)

and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and
learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart,
and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is
easy and my burden is light.” Matt. 11:28-30

i.Revelation chapters 12-14 is the central scene of the
book, making it the most important of the chiasm.
ii. Chapter 12 shows that there is a battle going on in the
universe between good and evil (Christ and Satan), and
this planet is now the main theatre of this battle.

iii. The first half of chapter 13 introduces us to one of the allies of Satan,
and surprisingly it was the Medieval Christ Church of history. The chapter
suggests that a similar power will have influence in the future, and
chapters 17 & 18 confirm this and give further detail (a subject we’ll look
at in our next series of seminars)
iv. The second half of chapter 13 introduces us to an economic-political
power that is not so clear to identify, perhaps because it is either still or
current or will appear sometime in the near future. Remember the John
14:29 principle that Biblical prophecy is best viewed after it has occurred.

v. Chapter 14, our subject for the last two sessions, is about the
response of God’s people to Satan’s forces just prior to the second
coming. These people are sometimes referred to as “The
Remnant”.
vi. A key issue for God’s people all through these central three
chapters is the Ten Commandments, in particular the first four that
deal with our relationship with God and our obedience to Him.
