PanelistsSteve Anderson is the founderand Executive Director of theaward winning civicengagement organizationOpenMedia. Steve is a digitalpolicy analyst and open Internet

advocate who often appears in national andinternational media to comment on telecom,

surveillance, and copyright policy along withother matters related to internet governance.

Micheal Vonn is a lawyer andhas been the Policy Director ofthe BCCLA since 2004. She hasbeen an Adjunct Professor atthe University of BritishColumbia (UBC) in the Faculty

of Law and in the School of Library, Archivaland Information Studies where she has taughtcivil liberties and information ethics.

Andrew Clement is a ProfessorEmeritus in the Faculty ofInformation at the University ofToronto. His recentprivacy/surveillance researchprojects include the Snowden

Surveillance Archive, a complete, indexed,searchable collection of all publisheddocuments that whistleblower Edward Snowdenreleased to journalists; and IXmaps.ca, aninternet mapping tool that makes visible secretNSA internet interception sites and the routingof personal data through them.

ModeratorAdel Iskandar is an AssistantProfessor of GlobalCommunication at Simon FraserUniversity inVancouver/Burnaby, Canada.Iskandar's work deals with

media, identity and politics; and he has lecturedextensively on these topics at universitiesworldwide. He is a co-editor of Jadaliyya and a

host of the online audio journal Status.

Anastasia Gaisenok is theExecutive Director of CheckYour Head: The Youth GlobalEducation Network, a youth-centred non-profit organizationthat educates, activates and
