15.2.1 Through Texas Instruments

1. The first MOU was signed on 12/2/2011 to establish a lab titled “BMSCE-Texas Instruments

Microcontroller Lab” to have adequate laboratory facility supplementing the theoretical knowledge

in the area of low power embedded Systems and to gain required body of knowledge in this area.

2. A one week faculty development programme on “Beagle Board and Android” was conducted from

July 25h- 29th 2011.

3. A new elective, Low Power Microcontroller was introduced for the 7th semester students of

Electrical Science cluster in the year 2011. 28 students in the year 2011, 19 students in the year

2012 and 55 students in the year 2013 opted for this course.

4. A project titled Minimal usage of Water Resource for Car Washing using Autonomous Robot was

carried out using the kits provided by Texas Instruments received consolation prize of Rs 10000 in

the National Level Design contest organized by Texas Instruments in the year 2012

5. The work was presented in the TI India Educators' Conference (TIIEC 2013), April 4th -5th 2013,

Bangalore. The same will be indexed in the IEEE Explore by the end of 2013.

6. A final year project titled “MSP430 Based Automatic Traffic Violation Detection System Using

Passive RFID Technology” was carried out by the students using the kits provided by TI and the

work was submitted to the International Conference to be held on November 16th 2013 at Panipat.

7. Conducted DrishTI Online quiz contest for 7th semester students based on MSP430 and received

certificate of recognition from TI and two students received Tiva launch pad for scoring highest

marks in the quiz
