What  is  KS1  Movers?    A  12  week  mul>-­‐skills  Physical  Educa>on  programme  that  has  been  designed  to  encompass  the  aims  of  the  Na>onal  Curriculum  framework.  The  programme  promotes  high  quality  Physical  Educa>on,  and  the  development  of  teaching  prac>ces,  whilst  giving  FS  and  KS1  pupils  the  opportunity  to  experience  compe>>on.    How  does  KS1  Movers  work?    •  Weeks  1,  6  and  11,  pupils  will  experience  Level  1  compe>>ons,  

undertaking  a  class  fes>val.  The  class  teacher  can  assess  the  pupils,  using  their  performance  as  the  benchmark  for  their  progression  through  the  programme.  

•  Weeks  2-­‐5  provide  teachers  with  the  opportunity  to  observe  a  P.E.  Specialist  delivering  ‘outstanding’  P.E.    Lessons  provide  the  building  blocks  for  FS  and  KS1  physical  educa>on.  

•  During  weeks  7-­‐10,  teachers  will  then  have  an  opportunity  to  use  the  lesson  overviews  and  game  cards  provided  in  the  accompanying  resource,  plus  what  they  have  observed  in  weeks  2-­‐5  to  enhance  their  own  delivery  of  the  building  block  lessons.  

•  Week  12  will  be  the  opportunity  for  the  school  to  send  12  pupils  to  a  mul>-­‐school  Level  2  compe>>on.  

 How  long  is  KS1  Movers?    12  weeks.  11  lessons  in  P.E.  >me.  1x3  hour  inter  school  fes>val.    What  is  the  impact  of  KS1  Movers?    •  Pupils  will  be  assessed  in  weeks  1,  6  and  11  to  iden>fy  physical  

development.  •  Data  will  be  made  available  to  schools  upon  comple>on  of  the  

programme.  •  Pupils  experience  Level  1  and  Level  2  compe>>on.  •  Pupils  develop  the  opportunity  to  lead  a  healthy  ac>ve  lifestyle.  •  Resources  and  experiences  that  will  further  teachers’  professional
