INCO-NET Call 2010 – MIRA related provisions:
• Secure the participation of the remaining Mediterranean Partner Countries (MPC) in the consortium;
• Increase the participation of Member States and Associated Countries in the consortium;• Support the building of the Euro-Mediterranean Innovation Space (EMIS) in order to foster
innovation in the MPC in strong collaboration with the European countries;• Establish a network of Research Centres, Public Institutions and other Stakeholders aimed at
supporting the implementation of the Horizon 2020 Programme• Support the creation of working groups covering the S&T aspects of the cooperation
priorities identified in the Paris Summit of the Union for the Mediterranean in July 2008.

Key Elements under Discussion:
– EMIS Webpage: relevant information on innovation in the MED-area (clusters, technology transfer organisations, financing instruments, events, …)
– EMIS Fora: EMIS Fora are the consequent further development of selected thematic workshops and involve the Research&Innovation community identified in the EMIS
– EMIS Capacity building: Various activities such as training on TT, IPR issues, etc. and dissemination of good practices, will be realised to enhance the innovation capacity in the EMIS

Participants: Representatives from research, business associations, intermediaries, technology transfer institutions, business
associations, cluster organisations (European Cluster Alliance, Europa Inter Cluster, …), policy makers, financial institutions, European Technology Platforms, EEN Sector Groups, public sector organisations and related projects/activities.
Implementation: An EMIS Forum will be organised once or twice a year in different regions of the EMIS covering a bunch of flexible
topics The EMIS Forum should be organised back-to-back to related events

• Working groups shall be set up to elaborate dedicated EU-MPC research agendas with clear linkages to the UfM activities which have research relevance. EMIS will try to provide bridges between the Research effort and Business Development
