Dear Future FBLA-PBL Sponsors

Greetings from Indiana FBLA-PBL! Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta

Lambda is the premier non-profi t (501 c 3) student organization in the country,

representing a quarter million young people wanting to make their career in business

or business-related fi elds.

As you will learn in this sponsorship package, our students participate in competitive

events ranging from accounting to entrepreneurship, from personal fi nance to website

development at the State and National Leadership Conferences. Along with the

competitions, the students learn and participate in various community service projects,

leadership activities, networking skills, and problem solving techniques.

We would like to invite your company to sponsor our organization and State

Leadership Conference. In return, Indiana FBLA-PBL would promote your company

as a state sponsor to our members, their advisers, their schools, and also their

communities across the state. There are a variety of sponsorship levels for you to

review in the packet. Just a few recognition types could include your name/logo

printed in our conference programs and displayed on the projection screens during the

conference sessions. Another might be recognition on the Indiana FBLA-PBL website

at www.indianafblapbl.org and in our state newsletters.

To become an FBLA-PBL sponsor, complete the enclosed sponsorship form and

submit it to the address, on the form, prior to the deadline listed. If you have any

questions, you may contact the state chair, Julie Jerzak at [email protected] or

574-250-7990.

Your company is a leading entity in modern business and with your expertise and our

future leaders, our partnership promises to be a rewarding one. After all, our students

could be your future employees and customers.

Sincerely

G Loitz

About FBLA-PBLFuture Business Leaders of America- Phi Beta Lambda (FBLA-PBL) is the premier non-profi t 501-C3 student

organization in the country, representing almost a quarter million young people striving to propel their career in

business or business-related fi elds. Our fi rst chapter was chartered in 1942 and today we are approaching 15,000

chapter charters from across the country and around the world.

Our mission is to bring students and business together in a progressive working relationship through innovative

leadership and career development programs. We have made it our deliberate strategy to incorporate all aspects

of business into our competitive events program. Students participate in competitive events ranging from

entrepreneurship to website development, from business plan to job interview, and from introduction to business

communications. Not only do students compete academically, but also they are encouraged to be involved in their

communities. FBLA-PBL raises more than $500,000 for the March of Dimes yearly.

Annually, thousands of students begin competing on the local, regional, state, and then national levels. Financial

burdens, however, often prevent students from achieving their full potential for success. This is where your

sponsorship will make a difference.

The association has four divisions:

1. FBLA-Middle Level for junior high, middle, and intermediate school students;

2. Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) for high school students;

3. Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) for postsecondary students; and

4. Professional Division for businesspeople, FBLA-PBL alumni, educators, and parents

who support the goals of the association.

FBLA-PBL is headquartered in Reston, Virginia, and organized on local, state, and national levels. Business and

career technical teachers, advisers, and advisory councils (including school offi cials, businesspeople, and community

representatives) guide local chapters. State advisers and committee members coordinate chapter activities for the

national organization.

The FBLA concept was developed in 1937 by Dr. Hamden L. Forkner of Columbia University. The fi rst high

school chapter was chartered in Johnson City, Tennessee on February 3, 1942. The Indiana FBLA state chapter was

created in 1947. In 1958, the fi rst PBL collegiate chapter was chartered in Iowa. The Professional Division, originally

the Alumni Division, began in 1979. Joining FBLA-PBL in 1994 was the FBLA-Middle Level for students in grades

5-9.

MembershipFBLA-PBL is the largest business and career technical student organization in the world. The high school division

has 215,000 members, while the postsecondary division reaches over 11,000 college students. The newest group,

FBLA-Middle Level, is showing remarkable growth with over 20,000 student members. Finally, the Professional

Division has reached over 3,000 members. Over 11,000 advisers round out the group. Exclusive membership and

career recognition programs are designed for each division to provide additional personal and chapter development

opportunities.

Competitive Events ProgramFBLA-PBL’s National Awards Program recognizes and rewards excellence in a broad range of business and career-

related areas. Through state-based competition at the spring State Leadership Conferences, students compete

in events testing their business knowledge and skills. Top state winners are eligible to compete for honors at the

National Leadership Conference each summer.

PublicationsThese publications bring fresh ideas, new direction, and network-building news to FBLA-PBL members and

advisers. Published four times a year, Tomorrow’s Business Leader is the exclusive publication for FBLA and FBLA-

Middle Level students and advisers. Distributed three times a year are the FBLA Advisers’ Hotline for high school

teachers, FBLA-Middle Level Advisers’ Hotline for middle school teachers, and PBL Advisers’ Hotline for college

advisers, and PBL Business Leader for PBL members. The Professional Division receives the The Professional

Edge.

Conferences & SeminarsFBLA-PBL sponsors conferences and seminars for members and advisers. These programs are designed to foster

the development of business leadership skills.

National Leadership ConferenceFBLA-PBL members have the competitive edge, as the best and brightest of FBLA and PBL convene to compete

in leadership events, share their successes, and learn new ideas about shaping their career future through workshops

and exhibits. This four-day conference is considered the pinnacle of the FBLA-PBL experience, especially for those

running for national offi ce. FBLA-PBL has forged partnerships with industry leaders to underwrite competitive

events and scholarships for students achieving national ranking.

Institute for LeadersHeld in conjunction with the National Leadership Conference, this high-energy, intensive, two-day seminar is a

focused-leadership experience for state and local chapter offi cers, as well as members and advisers.

National Fall Leadership ConferenceEach fall, new leaders and advisers from chapters across the nation gather for one of three conferences designed to

guide and motivate their success for the year. This includes workshops, seminars, exhibits, and general sessions, as

well as the benefi t of networking among their peers from other cities and states.
