The purpose of exchange is to promote cultural integration as well as bring into life the best international experience in the life of an exchange participant.
The process of exchange involves four main activities

RE-INTEGRATION
The international student internship program focuses on youth in some 1600 universities to give them a life changing experience in another country.

Raising
ICX 1. This involves raising
companies to have interns on AIESEC Global Internship Program(GIP)
2. Promoting internship opportunities for interns outside Ethiopia to come work on Companies and partners under the Global Community Development Program.
3. Match Eps to TNs on myaiesec.net
OGX 1. Promoting AIESEC
opportunities to members in Ethiopia.
2. Preparing recruited exchange participants to have adequate knowledge about countries they have been matched.
3. Educating member about what type of exchange opportunities are available to them.

Realization
Here the EP has arrived in the hosting country and has had his or her status changed to realized on myaiesec.net.
Intern begins work on internship: MT, TT, ET or DT with all support systems in place.

Re-integration

The global internship program is not meant to give a lifetime employment for participants but to empower youth to grow into active change agents in their environment.

The Global Internship Program is governed by a set of policies or terms of agreement called the International Exchange Quality Standards and Policies. A governing body called the International Control Board deals with such challenges faced during the exchange process.
