Functions/Formula
Function = predefined Formula E.g. the following formula contains the SUM function:
= (B4 + 25) / SUM(D5:F5)
6
Relative / Absolute ReferencesE.g. Enter the formula =A1 into cell B2 Copy the formula from B2 and paste into B3.
Formula changes to =A2 automatically.
Copy the formula from B2 and paste into C4. Formula changes to =B3 automatically.
Why? – Relative
B2 to C4: column no. +1. So A becomes B in the formula A1row no. + 2. So 1 becomes 3 in
the formula A1Hence Formula changes to =B3
Final result:
7
Relative / Absolute References
E.g. Enter the formula =$A$1 into cell B2 Copy the formula from B2 and paste into B3.
Formula remains as =$A$1 – absolute!!.
Copy the formula from B2 and paste into C4. Formula remains as =$A$1 – absolute!!.
Final result??
