Sanctuary Flowers
The flowers in the sanctuary on February 18 are dedicated to the glory of God and
placed in loving memory of W. D. (Bill) Brown by Ollie Brown, Debra Weil,
Deena Smith, Shannon Deen, and John McLeod & families.
SANCTUARY TEMPERATURE IN THE WINTER Just a reminder that the way our Sanctuary is designed, on
MOST COLD Sunday mornings, you will find it a little
warmer in the balcony and a little cooler on the floor.
Please plan to sit where you are most comfortable. See
You Sunday!
Bridal Shower
The ladies of the church are cordially invited to a Miscellaneous Call Shower
honoring Jennifer Lea Gaillard, bride elect of Luke Hatcher on Sunday, February
18, 2018. Please call between the hours of 1:30 and 3:00 p.m. in Burch Hall, at
First Baptist. The couple is registered at Amazon, Bed, Bath & Beyond, Bella Rue
Plaza, and Wal-Mart.
BE HERE TO CELEBRATE 25 YEARS
On March 18th, we will celebrate Blane and Barbara’s 25th
Year Anniversary at our Church. I hope you will be here
as we will recognize them during the morning service. In
addition, there will be a love offering taken. If you are
interested in contributing, you can drop your gift off at the
church office or mark you gift “Jacobs Anniversary”.
Hope to see you on March 18th for this special day in the
life of our Church. Dr. Jerry
Abundance Ministry
Many thanks to you for keeping this important
ministry going. For those of you that bring items,
things needed are individually wrapped snack
cakes, chips, crackers, Vienna sausage, candy (with
sugar or sugar free) drinks (diet & regular), packs
of peanuts, etc. You can also give money to this
ministry which will be used to buy what is needed.
Our Life Care brothers and sisters look forward,
with the ‘anticipation of small children’, to the times that they get to select
a snack from the cart that is kept supplied by YOU. Thanks again for your
love and generosity.
Jerry’s Sermon Title & Text
Attitudes Toward Worship
1 Corinthians 11:27-29 (NIV)
27 So then, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord
in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body
and blood of the Lord. 28 Everyone ought to examine
themselves before they eat of the bread and drink from the
cup. 29 For those who eat and drink without discerning the body
of Christ eat and drink judgment on themselves.
