One day I was warned by my dad not to climb an old oak tree in Cherry Hinton Park, because he had seen one of his friends fall from the tree when they were children. Ten days later I had permission to go to the park to play basketball with my BFF, Antoni. We were on are way to the park when Antoni stopped me in my tracks , then whispered, "Do you think we should climb the old oak tree that your dad had warned us about?" I nodded. We began to climb ................ and as we reached the 15th branch we noticed we were going to fall. So we clutched each others hands and with are spare hands we seized 2 small twigs. They snapped.We fell.When we hit the ground we landed on a soft , soggy patch of velvet green moss. We felt relieved ."Evangelina , have you learned a lesson?" Antoni asked. "Yes! Have you?" I replied. "Yes." Antoni said with a sigh. " Lets go and play basketball."I suggested. "Okay ,"Antoni replied.So we did.We had a brilliant match. On the way we worried about the trouble we would be in. My dad welcomed us home. Then asked "Why are your tops wet?" I replied, "We fell into a wet patch of grass." "Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Now I understand!" My dad answered. I went up stairs to my room to change my top. I promised myself I would not climb that tree again.

Felix – The Cavern

"Now Dave, never go down into the unstable jagged cavern, you might get hurt or killed!" said mum like a parrot each day. Did I listen? Of course not, what harm could it do? It was about a ten minute walk to the cavern. I heard a video game being played which meant Bob was already there. We laughed as we played super Mario odyssey together. The cavern was covered with moss and an ivy curtain hung over the entrance, Ican tell why mum would be so worried, there were jagged rocks everywhere! We had made some chairs and a table out of some stones. Suddenly, a gigantic crack opened and there was a rumble like thunder, rocks fell blocking the entrance. I tried calling mum but there was no signal! We were trapped! When mum found out she was furious! But she still called the fire brigade and the fire brigade called some diggers and they dug us out. It took all day, but it worked! “Now then, what's your excuse for being here?” said mum inquisitively. ‘’I... wha... it...,’’ I stuttered nervously. “Exactly, you don't have one. So, you owe someone an apology.” said mum. “Sorry.” I said. THE END

The Shipwreck

“Promise me Oscar, you won’t go to the Shipwreck. Its dangerous, the tide

might come in or it could catch fire!” warned mum repeatedly. I loved mum,

but she was just too worried about me. But did I listen? Of course not, but

what harm could it cause if she thought I was at the park with Eric?

It took about 10 minutes to walk to the Shipwreck. I saw the sea crashing on

the rocks in the deep valley. As I approached I saw Eric already waiting for

me in front of the old, wooden ship. Eric had brought a torch and two pillows

that his mother had thrown out. We walked in and made ourselves comfy

and I began to talk about minecraft.

We played for hours, making creepy faces, eating chocolate bars and playing

hide-and-seek. But before we knew it, the clouds had began to turn ,m.grey

and not even noticing lightning had struck the crow’s nest! It crept in quietly,

the wind pushing it nearer, then suddenly Eric shouted, “FIRE!!!”. But it was

too late, the flames had blocked the all the entrances.

Suddenly, a huge flush of water came rushing in! Eric yelled, “Too shore,

quick, or we’ll be drowned!”. I nodded, knowing we had no time to waste. So

we battled our way to the rocks, the waves crashing on us. Finally we reached

the rocks and clung to the sides for dear life. We caught our breath as we

climbed steep valley. Immediately we to laugh. “That was too close!”

laughed Eric. I laughed, but I was just happy that we were alive.

We sat in silence for a few minutes, but it felt like a year. Then Eric said, “I

think we should go home.” I agreed.

When I got home, mum was barking at me like a mad dog. Then she shouted,

“So, you had a water fight at the park, didn’t you?” I nodded, shamefaced.

“Then get in the bath, you’re going to catch a fever!” I hurried to the

bathroom in a second. I was sure that she knew that I went to the Shipwreck.

Mum had been right. she’d been right from the start.

The Terrifying Train By Lucia Year3

“Now Lucia don’t go playing up by the terrifying train,” my mum warned me

often enough.

“Why do you call it the terrifying train?” I asked.

“Well it is a very long story,” sighed mum.

So mum told me everything and I became curious….

That afternoon I bumped into my best friend Anna and I told her all about

the terrifying train, and just by looking at each other we realised that we

both wanted to find out more about the terrifying train.

We started walking out of town into the countryside and the trees grew

thicker. We crossed the woods holding hands until we reached a clearing

covered of beautiful wild flowers. The flowers were so colourful, almost

blinding after the darkness in the woods. Anna and I ran across the field

until we found something hidden in a ditch… It was the terrifying train! We

tiptoed inside and it creaked like an old, rusty floorboard and it smelled like

a full, summer heat recycle bin! Anna and I had to cover our noses so we

could breathe. The seats tangled in vegetation – it looked like it had been

there for years.

Suddenly, as we were nosing around one of the carriages, we heard a

rustling noise, and we became so scared that we could hear our own

heartbeats. But then something came out from under a rusty table: it was

mouse! Anna and me jumped and the carriage started to rock! Then the

train flipped and the rusty, hard metal fell crushing on us!!! We were stuck

under the metal and we could not get out…

“Come on we have to get out!” shouted Anna.

“Lets push strongly!” I cried loudly.

We pushed the metal very hard for what looked like minutes, turned into

hours. Finally, we moved the metal and we carefully slid out onto the edge

of the carriage like a pair of scared snakes. Then we jumped lightly and

quietly so that we were careful not to wobble the train again. When we hit

the ground, we ran so quickly that if you were looking at us you might have

mistaken us for two cheetahs.

After running for what seemed liked forever we stopped for a break and

were so relived that we were alive. I was amazed that we could escape. We

were also a little bit excited and scared at the same time that it happened.

I did not want to go home to face mum! But it was the right thing to do

because I’m not very good at lying. So when I got home I felt so ashamed of

myself. I knocked on the door and my mum came rushing to the door. “I was

so worried,” mum cried. “Mum, I have to tell you some thing,” I stammered.

I started crying. “ What do you have to tell me,” mum said worriedly. So I

told my mum everything and she was furious but she knew I learnt a lesson.

If you did not know what the lesson was: my mum was right from the start!

Luke – Foggy Forest

Foggy Forest

"Toby, now don't go down to Foggy Forest in Eddington!"

warned uncle Danny. "There is a 99% chance there is a

pack of wolves in the fog, at least four of them; they

would easily overpower you" he added.

Well, of course, I didn't pay attention to a single word of

that warning and uncle Danny thought I was down in

the park with Silva and my friends.

Indeed, I was in the park with them. We were playing

football but I smashed the ball over, a good 800m into

the forest. Silva and I ran from the pitch with Gelert,

my Irish wolf dog. "Even if we do meet wolves, Gelert

will fight them off" I declared bravely. Then we came to

the entrance to Foggy Forest...

We skidded to a halt. The fog in the forest was as thick

as maple syrup; tree roots stuck up like legs waiting to

trip you over.

Just then, like out of thin air, a wolf came out of the

fog. Silva grabbed a long stick and swang it at the wolf

that caught it between his teeth and snapped it.

The wolf pounced knocking Silva to the ground, biting

down on his leg and dragging him towards his den.

I was frozen to the spot, paralised not knowing what to

do.

Gelert, my beloved Irish wolf dog, came to our rescue.

Before the wolf could get to his den, Gelert jumped on

the his back, fighting the wolf courageously.

It was a fierce fight, there was blood everywhere. The

wolf toppled but pounced on Gelert who threw him off.

The wolf swipped at Gelert who ducked and launched

himself at the wolf's stomack. The wolf fell down. Gelert

jumped on him and started to bite the wolf that barely

managed to get Gelert off before running away.

I rushed to Silva's side; he was on the ground heaving

himself towards me. I picked up a big stick and handed

it to him: "Here, lean on this" I offered.

Our clothes were drenched in mud or in Silva's case

blood from his leg. Silva & I were relieved but anxious

about Gelert; thankfully he was unharmed, although

his fur was soiled with the wolf's blood.

The three of us started back home, without our football

but valuing our lives the more.

Uncle Danny was not amused to see the state of me. I

commented casually 'You should see the other guy',

which made uncle Danny laugh.

Madalena – Ninna and the huge waves

Margarida – The Frightening Forest

The frightening forest. "Now Mia don't go playing in the forest," my mum had warned me often enough. "It's dangerous. You mite get crushed and the house mite fall on you, you know the houses aren't that strong any more." Did I listen? of course not. Most days after school that's exactly were I went. Daft really, but she actually thought that I was doing my homework with Lily. We played in the woods and before we knew it we saw an abandoned house ,mum always told me about there are haunted houses in the forest but that was when I was little. So me and Lily went in well Lily was a little scared she wanted to go home and do homework instead. I went in so Lily went too. After a while it started to get cold so we lit a fire. Suddenly a tree fell on top of the house and then I remembered that mum said that the houses weren't that strong so they mite get crushed. Luckily we didn't get crushed. As minutes past we still hadn't figured out how to get out but suddenly Lily started to think and try to create a plan to get out. After a while Lily said " I've got a plan, a real plan!" " What is it?" " So we slither like snakes underneath the door and the were free!" When we got out we covered in mud "What are we going to tell are parents?" said Lily. " The truth I guess." When we got home my mum was furious at me for going to the frightening forest. Lily's mum was angry but as angry as mine. she was the one who gave the warning. Well I guess mum was right about houses after all. I will never go to the frightening forest again.

Nico – Midnight Adventure

MIDNIGHT ADVENTURE

Bill and Zack, please don't go to the forrest, you will get lost! But that is

exactly where we went, we were wating all day for this. As soon as mum left

to do shopping, we grabbed our bags like the speed of light, and we headed

to the forest.

We were following our homemade map. It took us half an hour to make it, it

was hard work also. It would take us 15 minutes to get right in the middle,

where we planned to go all along. We wanted to go to the forest because

people talked about it, so we thought it was a big deal.

It was damp, dark, cold and mysterious. Zack was a bit scared at the start but

I made him feel better.

I heard something that made us fall backwards it was as loud as thunder!

Zack eyes were turning grey then I knew my eyes were too.

We were completely lost! And we were complaning who's fault it was, then

we calmed down. We also realised we have forgotten our telephones and

lost our map. We should be in trouble by now. We did not know what to do.

Then we heard a sound, it was familiar it sounded like cars then we followed

it. After we saw our house, it was right at the edge of the road.

We were nervous when we rang the bell. Our mum said to us, you could

have been killed! Then I told her to caIm down. Let me guess, you went to

the forest and got lost, like I said! She said in a loud voice. No, we replied!

she was right from the start.

Patrick – The Magic Book

The Magic Book

"Hi, my name is Bilbo and this is my dog Waffle and I am going to tell you

about a magic book and how it teleported us on an audacious adventure"

One day I was looking at some of my mother's books. I found one and

thought,

"What is this?" It was covered in some sort of scaley skin with magic symbols

that hurt my eyes. It had a warning on the back: 'Beware do not read, evil

magic book.'

An evil witch, (who happended to be passing), cackled and said

"I wouldn't read that if I were you".

But, the book had other ideas, and forced itself open. I looked up in suprise

and was teleported into the book. The next thing I knew me and Waffle were

at the bottom of a huge moutain, looking up with a golden key in my hand. I

put it safely in my pocket.

I explored around the bottom of the mountain, looking for someone who

could tell me where I was, when the key suddenly shot out of my pocket and

flew off into the distance. I grabbed hold of it and it dragged me along until

it stuck into the side of the mountain. I sat down on the floor exhausted.

When I stood up and touched the key it turned and a secret door opened in

front of me.

I wondered who lived here. I knocked on the stone door, but got no reply. I

tried again, still no reply, so me and Waffle started to explore. After a while

we found the great hall with a dragon asleep on a huge pile of gold. Should

we steal the gold? Should we wake the dragon? Or should we run? If we

touch the gold, we would probably catch dragon disease and sneeze flames.

While we were thinking what to do, the dragon opened an eye and bellowed

"What are burglars doing in my hall?", so we ran.

When we got back to the door, it was shut with the key still outside. We were

trapped! The dragon was moving fast and couldn't stop and smashed into

the door crashing half way through the side of the mountain and was

knocked unconscious. We tip-toed through the hole, piled rocks back into it

and ran as fast as we could away from the dragon.

As we ran, I tripped over something on the ground and fell. It was the same

book as before, and as I fell I went tumbling down

and

down until I popped out of the dragon hide book

with Waffle in my arms. The book snapping shut behind me.

In the other room, the witch was watching TV. She turned off the TV, picked

up the book and put it on the highest shelf, turned and said

"Have you learnt your lesson?"

I said "I'm tired". It was at that point my mum gave me a huge hug and went

off to make my tea.

She wasn't that evil after all.

Chapter 1: The arrival

“Ferdia please don’t go running around the State Castle, it’s dangerous you could get

severely hurt! There are creatures that can gobble you up well that’s what some say…”

stated Ferdia’s aunt Ilaria. “I know, I know it’s dangerous! They’re as fierce as can be,

they wear black leather jackets and enormous black boots and they have black and red

tattoos representing death, no big deal I’ve heard it before,” I interrupted. Ilaria may

be my aunt and I loved her for that, but she rarely let me do something like that without

her telling me to be careful and coming down with me and helping me up onto the

bars. I know that she was really adventurous and went around the world, but she didn’t

even let me run around the football field without telling me off. I had thought she

would not have let me go down there at all, especially because she warned me about

how dangerous it was.

Even if I had been there before with Anita, on the inside I was quivering with fear. I

usually went there and talked and played with her, for I was not going to stay there for

long. I hid in one corner and Anita hid in another corner in the janitor’s closet and even

if Anita and I were careful I still made a lot of noise as I kept moving because the ground

was covered in objects of all sorts. I stumbled as all the objects squished to make a pile

of things that kept following our bodies.

Chapter 2: The disaster

As soon as Anita and I got squeezed in, I heard loud footsteps. As I turned to tell her

both us heard the loudest roar in the history of roars. Once I turned face to face with

Anita, I was about to scream but Anita told me to be still and quiet for I might have

been roasted on a stake if I didn’t. I had to think of something, fast. The lines of soldiers

outside the room was humungous, it was probably all the guards in the whole of The

State Castle. The guards kept bellowing and shouting at the Castle doors just in case

someone was in there and that someone might have been the thief. Someone stole the

crown and that someone did it very easily. The guards were as angry as angry could be.

I knew that it wasn’t the right time to hang out at The State Castle, but I wasn’t very

disappointed because I was known to be mischievous one in my village, even if the

village was mischievous too. Anita was my girlfriend and she was very good at being

dramatic, so she always emphasised things more than normal. “Oh no, we’re going to

be on roasted on a stake, I feel faint!” cried Anita very dramatically, as usual. “Do

something

Ferdia, do something!” continued Anita. “I may have an idea!” I stated. There was not

a lot of time…

Chapter 3: The rescue

“Why don’t we hide in the room and when they come, we move? Or we could dress up

in those guards armour!”. At the end of the corridor like room there was a pile of

guard’s armour that was in pieces. Anita and I grabbed the armour and put the pieces

together. As the both of us were side by side watching the guards outside bellowing

and shouting, there was a loud roar again. The crown was next to Anita, she looked to

her side and something was poking her and pushing into her skin: it was the crown. She

turned to me and whispered “Ferdia this is what they are looking for, their king’s crown,

someone must have stolen it, and I think I might propose to who,” I was pledged to out

the door and give it to them with cheers of joy being heard from the guard crowd. After

all that time I was the one who knew where the crown was: in the janitor’s closet. I

figured that it was the janitor who stole it and that was why it was in his closet.

There was too much to know about these guards, but I couldn’t find anything about

them, until Anita saw them smiling. The guards were very hilarious and the funniest of

all was the smallest one. He was on the shoulder of the biggest one and he told the

funniest jokes. I was ready to jump out the door and say I found it. I put on a

disappointed face so I could make a joke. We opened the door and the noise fell, at

this point all of the guards were staring at us. “Well, did you find anything?” Bellowed

the biggest one with the dwarf on his shoulders…

Chapter 4: The ending

“Um well, yes!” I screeched lifting up the crown. “Yeah! All hail these guards, wait what

are your names?” asked the guard chief. “My name is Ferdia and her…his name is

Anita… Anger, Anger is my sister… s’ husband” I stalled in a weird sound of words. “All

hail theses young guards who speak weirdly, all hail Ferdia and Anger!” shouted the

chief guard in total delight. “All hail these young guards who speak weirdly, all hail

Ferdia and Anger!” copied the crowd. “We will host a feast!” continued the guards. “Oh

no, that’s not necessary, we are already fat enough!” I trembled. “Well then, you’re

getting fatter!” shouted the crowd of guards. The guard’s hospitality at the feast was

very interfering for we had seen more than this, we had saw shouting and fighting

because they wanted to find the crown.

A few hours later…

After the feast Anita and I walked down the path to the house but when I got home my

aunt was in a rage. “Where have you been? Why are there baskets full of food in your

hands? How did you get your clothes so wrinkled up?” As aunt Ilaria was bugging me

with questions, I looked straight at the clock, it was way past midnight. “I was at Anita’s

house, her mom drove us and she got caught up in traffic, I bought all this food from

Leonard’s food shop and we fell into the pond in Anita’s garden because her big brother

was playing “it” with us, does that answer your questions?” I went on. “Go to bed,

you’re grounded!” she shouted with big eyes and her nostrils flaring. She looked like

she was about to explode with depression. She was flaming with irritation and despair.

He was last seen on camera at 6 o,clock at the shoe shop.

Rumors have spread that he was taken by aliens!

Please stay away for your own safety!"

Well, they said they want to hire police to go there well that just made

think I want to go there and see for myself. So, I told my mum I want to go

with Luke to the park but we planned to actually go to area 51. I got a little

frightend because that place is like there have been a million wars over the

re and the smell is so toxic that you need gas masks. I`m lucky that my dad

is a fire fighter because when there`s fire they wear gas masks so they

don`t suffer.

Today my and my friend were about go when mum said we are not aloud

to go out side so we had to think of a plan called mission impossible that

we hated to do. We had to crawl through the vent and I actually was pretty

freaked because of the spiders so I went a bit quicker. When we arrived it

was surrounded by armored police that didn`t stop us we found a little

hole to squeeze through. I forgot all about the police so the next thing I

knew I was being chased by police and on the news you must be

wondering were is Luke well he went to prison!

I tripped up on something and I didn`t look back finally I peaked back and I

was being followed by aliens I luckily out ran them and escaped back hom

e. My mum was waiting and shouted to never go there again!

She new it because it showed every thing on the news. "I will never go

there again..."

Jack – The mysterious cave

Mum said “Do not go to the Mysterious cave, a man died there three years ago.” I told mum I was going to football club but I set of anyway with my friend, Henry for the mysterious cave. Finally we got there, and walked up the mountain to the cave. Then I saw it. It was the cave, it looked gloomy and damp, there were over-hanging rocks on the roof and some kind of rock on the floor, then we walked inside. I looked around and saw bats, many of them and not just bats but spiders and their webs. Henry was also scared of the skeletons, which were at least 400 years old. I looked at Henry who was looking upwards. “What are you looking at?” I asked and Henry pointed out the top of the cave. There were vibrating rocks and suddenly the rocks fell down. There were small rocks and suddenly a massive, colossal rock fell down, crash! I was screaming to Henry. I crept round the rocks and saw there was a big rock in front of me. I ran to the rock and crept round it to not make it collapse and then ran to the door as fast as I could without stopping. After that I saw a collapse of rocks falling behind me and I ran for my life cutting my way through the small bits of rock and ran outside. I was wondering where Henry was, when I saw him pop out of the cave and run down to me. “Are you alright, Henry?” Henry nodded. “Wasn’t that terrifying for you?” “Yeah, it was” said Henry. Henry and I ran home scampering, and we both ran away different ways. I went home and when I walked through the door I was sent up to my bedroom, I didn’t even know why I was sent up to my big round room, how did she Mum know? I know I should have listened to her because I could have died.

Jim – The creepy mansion (excerpt)

‘’Promise me Henry you won’t go down to the mansion.’’

Mum had warned me enough. ‘’It’s dangerous you know what

happened last time.’’

The mansion is a place of dead bodies and ghosts.

I was already 10 minutes late and I could see a shadow up ahead, I

knew that Tom was there. I shouted ‘’let’s go in the mansion!!’’ A

muffled voice said ‘’ok’’ I rushed over to the shadow ‘’let’s go.’’

We crept inside the mansion suddenly, the big mansion door

slammed shut!!! I could see Toms fright. I checked every possible

exit but then I noticed that Tom wasn’t doing anything he was

possessed by a ghost and he was coming straight for me!!! I

noticed a coffin nearby I reached in and I found a knife I threw it at

Tom and the possessed tom and the ghost flew out I noticed that

the ghost opened the window to get out I threw Tom out of the

window and woke him up.

‘’A tree nearly hit you!!! That’s so dangerous how could you!!!
