Purpose
Enhance and expand the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) future workforce by:
– Fostering regional and statewide communication,
– Developing operational concepts for collaboration, – Identifying opportunities for multi-industry collaboration
and alignment to advance STEM education and cultivate the 21st century workforce
Provide guidance and resources for other states looking to establish or grow a STEM network

Team America Rocketry Challenge (TARC)13th annual competition2014 = 4,000 students in 48 states60,000 students have participated since 2003Survey of past participants gave encouraging findings
– 96% plan to complete a college degree and 68% also expect to attend graduate or professional school
– 71% plan to pursue a career directly related to STEM – 42% very likely to pursue a career in aeronautic/aerospace
engineering
TARC has become AIA’s model STEM program
